            Small world...
Stolen Valor was shot down by the 9th in reguards to lying about valor/service. I'm not sure if it has been stricken from the law for wearing unearned medals. I can't find the source, but I remember reading you could get 5-10 years per medal for Bronze stars (and higher), Purple Hearts, and POW medals.

I read through the whole thread and apparently this kid claims that he was sick of being called a "fatty" by his cohorts so he needed something to motivate him, thus why he wore a uniform. He deleted his FB account so people would stop harassing him. What a shame, if he wanted to wear a uniform so badly, why not just join? his poor impersonation of a Military personnel was bound to be discovered.

because none of them ever thought they'd get caught. We live in such an open world, especially with the internet. This kid became infamous all over the military community so quickly and he faced repercussion for his actions swiftly.

So this is one of the things that REALLY bothers me - its one thing to find some guy who is claiming to be in or having been in the service to garner something for themselves, fame, promotion special recognition from job etc. Or for those actually doing this to commit fraud in some way. That kind of person, I can go along with its time to have them shut down, and if someone wanted to beat them down I'd be all for it.

But when I see a kid like this, or one like the nutcase wearing an airforce jacket, desert boots with his pants tucked in and a ranger beret with a very dispondant look on his face - these people have mental issues. They're not all there, and when I see a whole thread of guys saying how they'd like to kick his a** - it really doesn't make me feel good to know that you represent the United States in foreign countries.

                                It shameful and childish behavior.
