Legality of Genesisarms Gen 12 Shotgun upper on BB RAW AR-10 Lower?

I have recently learned that a Genesis arms Gen 12 shotgun works on any DPMS lower (in theory, with magwell fitment being a possible issue so this is in the dreaming stage).

And I have a BB RAWed PWS MK2 lower with a MK220 Mk1 upper and I think it may be worthwhile to try and grab that gen 12 upper, but I am wondering if that is still within the legal okay.

Namely, for a RAW to go from 308 to 12 guage, I got the submission email from when I did the RAW online and I did put in "Gun Make: PRIMARY WEAPON SYSTEMS Gun Model: MK2 Gun Caliber: Firearm with interchangable barrels" So in theory it isn't locked to what its original caliber right?

If I was going from 308 to 6.8 or W/E I think it should be less of an issue, but I think california has more anal laws about semi shotguns with a box mag? Esp this won't be a fixed mag but a BB one. Esp when I have the RAW paperwork, it lists the MK2 as type RIFLE.

Unlike when I did my Vepr-12 where it was locked to 12 GA.

Also, unlike my Vepr-12 where I had to swap a bunch of parts to use 10 rounders, since both the base PWS and the Upper to be are American made, I can run 10 rounders out of the box with the bullet button that is on the PWS without issue?

I want to do this, but I kind of don't want to be the example case somewhere if someone gets too many ideas. Esp since I already got a vepr-12 for the boxed shotgun and I even spent the 120 dollars for 10 round Molot made mags since the SGM stuff was bunk.

Currently, it is legal to modify a RAW in any manner that does not make it into an illegal prohibited weapon (DD, MG, SBR, SBS).

Under CA regulations, a BBRAW are required to operate using "bullet button" style magazine release in order to maintain it's RAW status. [11 CCR 5477]
^BBRAW are further prohibited from being modified so that it can no longer operate without the use of a "bullet button" style magazine release.

    Therefore...

As long as your BBRAW still utilizes a "bullet button" style magazine release, it can be legally modified in any manner that does not make it into a prohibited weapon (DD, MG, SBR, SBS).

Which means, when you modify your BBRAW from .308/7.62x51mm to 12Gauge, the firearm must:
    1. Operate using a "bullet button" style magazine release.
    2. Have a barrel length of 18" or greater.
    3. Have an overall length of 26" or greater.

    Side note...
Federal laws prohibits imported shotguns from having a magazine capacity of greater than 5 rounds.
^A USA made shotgun does not have this requirement.
~Replacing enough foreign made parts with USA made parts will cause the imported firearm to no longer be legally considered a foreign made firearm and will cause it to be considered a USA made firearm.
