    1911 front strap machine checkering

    Hello all,

I was away from calguns for a while, been very busy in my shop, buying and making a lot of tools/fixtures, now I'm available to do machine checkering on 1911 front strap and mainspring housing, here are some pictures of 20 LPI @ 90 Degree checkering on 1911 test frame.

Any further questions feel free to contact me.

Looks like you made a swing fixture with stops to get those nice consistent ends.

I'm currently trying to design a fixture for the same thing, would you mind showing what you put together a bit more? Not asking for the trade secret, just a hobby-ist looking to step up the game.

This one is 90 degree checkering at 20 LPI and feel like 25 LPI with a 60 degree, in our shop we don't do 60 degree checkering.

Looks like you've done this to more than one frame. Have any pics of the finished product?
