    I need a LIFE!!

Talking about wooing your wives to love shooting, anyone got a tip how to get mine to shoot rifle?

I built her a super light 6lb AR and she still doesn’t like it. She’s crazy about handguns but not rifles. I don’t think making the rifle look all pink and purple would do it. She’s not that kind.

Bribe? I heard Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent (sp?) have stores in Vegas.

beanz2.......47 years off experience - don't push her. Mine still don't shoot a rifle and I tried everything from a 22, Blackpowder (very early days), Trap guns, and 222. Just not interested....Be happy she shoots and backs you.

Beanz2, maybe you should sell me your Shadow 2 so you don't have any issues with your wife. I would be happy to help you out.....

Too late, she has "commissioned" me to get thinner grips for it to fit her hands

No problem. You should draw the line at a trigger job though... Otherwise before you know it, it will be the full CGW package.

Hahaha, too late for that. The S2 had the full CGW race package, of course this was before FS decides to get tough with their 4 lb trigger requirement

Not sure what will be my next FS handgun. Most of the ones I can think of have triggers much less than 4 lb. There is one Dan Wesson PM9 that can meet that limit and still have an awesome trigger, but I'd choke on THG and ATHG with 9 round magazines. Maybe I should stick to rifles.

Light triggers, I just don't get it.....

I've taken over 200 classes at Frontsight. My current favorites are Handgun Combat Master and ATHG

I use stock Glocks. Stock triggers. Glock (steel) sights. Wouldn't want a light trigger if you paid me.

Everyone is looking for an equipment fix to a training problem.

                Just my 2 cents....

I think my wife loved it even before, but when I started taking her out to shoot tannerite and long range/precision she really took a liking to long guns.

Sometimes it is not about looking for equipment to fix a training problem, it is looking for something more comfortable, thus easier to shoot. Triggers, grips, sights, whatever. If you are comfortable with the gun you are likely to train more with it, thus getting better.

I have had glocks and didn't like them because they did not fit my hands. I switched to an M&P and it fit like a glove. Didn't need to change the grip to drop a mag and so forth. However, the trigger felt funny on my finger. Changed to an Apex trigger and it felt comfortable. Nothing to do with weight. Cleaner break, more tactile reset. The trigger return spring is the same weight as the factory.

A good shooter should be able to shoot good with almost any gun. However some just fit better than others.

Well, not everyone can be as good as you. We need crutches where you just waltz through HCM

And those who take the classes using a revolver would call the Glock a crutch.

My comments were specifically about light triggers.

I have seen numerous posts here about trying to get light triggers thru weapons inspection, etc.... These can be safety hazards on the range and increase the chances for a ND.

Choose whichever pistol/revolver feels right for you. Make, model, size, caliber, sights, and yes trigger. But don't lighten the trigger thinking that this is what is NECESSARY to make you a better shooter.

Then Train, Train, Train. Dry Practice. Live Fire. Fast shooting. Slow, methodical shooting. Square range. Tactical Classes.

Training will make you the best shooter that you can be.

Train until your chosen weapon just becomes an extension of your arm and brain that allows you to place a shot - wherever and whenever you want to - on demand.

since we won't be able to train at FS for a few more months I decided to check out another trainer here in SoCal.
Taking the Combat Essentials course with Mike Levy (@knockoutlights) over at Assault Dynamics.

excited to see what else I can learn and add to the 'ol toolbox.

                            anyone else doing any training?

                                "ventura county"
I was given an address in Santa Paula to meet up at and we'll convoy to the range from there.

I believe he has a ranch out there so I assume it's there? or could even be held at Piru I guess.

Either way, it's about 2+ hours for me so I'l be up bright and early.

They're gonna love my thumbs high modified weaver stance.
