California "FFL 03 Friendly" Ammunition Dealers starting 1/1/18

Bummer

I was issued my 03ffl/coe recently. I made an order through Primary arms for some Christmas sale accessories and one box of lead free Barnes .40 s&w HP ammo (on sale for $20.?? compared to $26.99 at sportsman warehouse or $35 at LGS) for my handgun I carry with me on active hunting trips. I submitted my documentation after ordering since they have an email response after ordering ammo. Primary arms customer service said their compliance officer said for now they are unable to send to California for 03ffl/coe; approved methods are a ffl dealer ordering for store inventory or to ffl dealer for transfer to us after background check. Bummer. Good company though; I would rather have that answer based on their company policy than some other company such as Joe bob outfitters that says they do not ship ammo to California.

I placed an order with Wholesale Hunter, uploaded the FFL 03 and COE, got an email that the order was processing, then later an email that the order was refunded. I made an inquiry and the response was: "Unfortunately we do not ship to 03 FFLs so we had to cancel and refund the order."

i said shopbfam was ffl03 GTG. but they are not. they only ship to FFL03 if cart is under $200. but free shipping is only over $200. AND they changed prices on me after my order

They drop-ship ammo, they reached out to me letting me know it will take a little longer as ammo goes to them then to me, I emailed them back acknowledging this and providing my FFL and COE, ammo arrived about 10 days later.

i guess its a coin toss because i ordered yday and they said no sorry we cant ship this.

i ordered from psa a few times recently. last one was in december. i think that preferred ffl is their default setting in regards to orders that require an ffl. its set up for firearm purchases. my previous orders that don?t require an ffl didn?t go to that page. for my ammo orders i just email customer service with my order # and ffl03/coe/id to prevent delay.

When I uploaded my docs to Budsgunshop, they told me to call to order ammo, and I am good to go. I called to order ammo the beginning of this month. The order was created along with some soft gun cases. The soft gun cases arrived in three days. Anyways the ammo took more than one week to have a notification due to the distributor needing to re-stock. When it was re-stocked and ready to ship; I received a call saying we need an ffl dealer. Your license is just curio and relic. I said I uploaded both ffl and coe. Turns out the person I uploaded it to forgot the coe. I also sent them the penal code showing my exemption and also information from online for them to forward to their compliance office.

The order has shipped but still awaiting arrival.

So, judging by the emails I’m starting to receive, did today’s ruling mean that anyone can now have ammo shipped to them in CA?
