I just got back home 15 mins ago from buying 1k of 40 and 1k of 45 off a calgunner. I'm probably 11 to 12 thousand rounds ATM of 6 different calibers

I predict ammo being so high people's safes will be ammo and guns laying outside the safe. Future calgun thread "some ****er stole my ammo and left the guns"

It's pretty bad. I have come across tubs & cans of my handloads that I had forgotten about.

Except for milsurp & .22 I don't generally buy factory ammo. I stockpile other stuff.

I have been reloading for the past two years so I don't really like shooting factory ammo anymore. I laugh every time I see a post that Walmart has ammo in stock because the prices there are outrageous compared to my reloads. The only factory ammo I buy anymore is 12 gauge and .22

hording ammo is not ok if you do not shoot it. i know a few folks that have not shot a gun in 10 years. now that is sad.

I try to keep a running balance of 1k in most calibers. Falls below 500, I re-order. Thinking of reloading, it's just the time i think that would be involved.
Between work and family it's a struggle to shoot more than once a week let alone time to re-load.

If you can talk about it openly, then your ammo habit isn't bad.

Every time I see a sale on calibers I shoot, I seem to think I need more.

My reloading habit is pretty bad. I'll buy enough supplies to load 1,000 rounds of .38 Special, and load 500, then repeat the process. If I see a Powder Valley, or Bear Creek group buy, I get in on it even if I just received my supplies from a Graf's group buy.

Same here lol. My last order from Graf's was about 30k primers and 12 lbs of 231 and it seems like it's never enough.

I pay 17 cents per rd. for 9mm fmj reloads, I can't possibly justify spending my time reloading.
                          I usually have 7 k of 9mm and about 3 k 5.56

Just get a good press and reload for an hour here, an hour there, next thing you have 1000 rounds loaded. That and the ammo you make will be much better then anything you can buy.

LOL, I thought I was the only one who have this problem.

for purpose of hoarding... a box or two, or more of ammo every few weeks. been doing this for awhile now. i pick up a few, or more ammo cans every year for ammo storage. the ammo count grows over time.
