Dude I take a break from work so that I canto and pick up buckets of brass at the range, and reload my own. Trust me, if you reload, and you don't shoot for a few weekends, you start stocking ALOT more ammo than ever before.

Put that money towards a reloading set-up.

Well let's see...I ordered 1,000 rounds of 5.56 last week and it's in transit and I just ordered another 1,000 rounds of 5.56 yesterday. LOL

Every time I get ammo, I shoot it all.

Eh, 1K of .223 is just one nice, full day at the range.

i buy about 1500 rounds of 9mm and 1000 38special a month but shoot about half of it so I keep adding more and more. My wife won't let me get into reloading as she knows how bored I get with repetitive tasks so she says to wait til I find a good deal on ammo and get it then. Also I found jack ross reloads a few months ago for 8 a box so got about 5000 rounds of that.

With a multiple stage reloader, its not repetitive at all. I wouldn't do it for rifle unless I had an expensive carbide sizing die for it, but pistol would be great for it. Its quite satisfying pulling a lever and having ammo drop into the bucket. I don't see how that could get old

People were telling me that it wasn't worth it for them to reload 9mm, nor .223.

                    9mm:
                    1000 Retail 115GR $230.95 (Averaged CPR between Walmart Federal 100, and 250packs)
                    1000 Reloads 124GR $120.4614 (Plated/TMJ [no exposed lead])

                    .223/5.56:
                    1000 Federal 55gr .223 $420.225(in 100 Packs @ Walmart including TAX)
1000 55 grain Pulled $184.7644929 (Plinker bullets, bought in Bulk and reloaded, including shipping)

With other calibers, I hear you save WAY more (.38 Secial, .40, .45).

Please keep in mind these are my CURRENT reloads, and I have not bought powder in any substantial bulk-QTYs yet. Reloading is cheaper than buying steel cased ammo @ Walmart too, after recouping the initial cost of press and such.

I don't reload, nor, can I find myself willing to buy reloads from anyone else...for now i'll just keep stockpiling and shooting at the range until things change...I only shoot 9mm now, my 92fs and the Px4, I've stocked up on about 5000 rounds, should hold off quite a few Zombies should the need arise...wouldn't mind getting it up to about 10,000 rounds

I see it as: if I were to reload rifle brass 6-7 times, I would expect that "Zombies" would come in waves, and I could reload while security is kept between said waves.

A 9mm, to me, is only for buying time to get my rifle... Unless I build that 9mm Rifle sooner than later...

AMMO - It's terrible thing to waste!

"The only thing necessary for the triumph [of evil] is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burke speech of 23 April 1770, "Thoughts on the Cause of the Present Discontents," delivered to the House of Commons.
