How to register a gun with CA DOJ?

In a weird situation. I picked up this gun after DROS over 2 years ago.

Used this gun for my CCW permit and now i tried to renew my permit but LE Department is stating that my gun is not registered to the state? how is that possible?

At any rate - I believe I need to use the Automated Firearms System (AFS) Personal Information Update Application correct?

I emailed the DOJ twice since Wednesday and no response. Can anyone please help me?

FFL in SoCal here, you should be able to just submit a personal information update through CA DOJ CFARS, to put yourself back in the AFS records. It is super quick, here is the link. https://cfars.doj.ca.gov/login You will get a notification that the application was submitted and you will get another notification once it has been approved. It shouldn't take too long, we have seen these come back in as soon as 24 hours as approved. Could take a couple weeks though. Hopefully this helps.

If all else fails, you can take it to an FFL and submit a return to owner DROS and wait the 10 days again, etc.

The Automated Firearms System Personal Information Update is only used to update your personal information for ammo transfers and does not update a firearm's AFS record.

Automated Firearms System Personal Information Update | State of California - Department of Justice - Office of the Attorney General

If the firearm's info you provide on the AFS Personal Information Update does not exactly match the firearm's AFS record, then the update will get rejected because the firearm you entered is not in AFS.

The original CA FFL dealer that did the transfer to you, maybe able to submit a DROS correction that may correct any inaccuracies in the original DROS submission.

A pawn-return maybe the fastest method of "updating/correcting" a firearm's AFS record or get your unregistered firearm registered to you.
^This could take 2-3 weeks for the pawn and then returning the pawn loan with transfer back (DROS/10 day wait).

Submission of a completed Firearm Ownership Report is the voluntary method of adding a firearm into AFS that had no previous AFS record.
^This may take 4-88 weeks after CA DOJ cashes in the payment for the report.
