The panel has a power wire going into the back from the original hard-wired system, and I don't think this guy is familiar with that, now that 99% of all systems are wireless. It's an old wired system that's been upgraded with wireless window, motion and glass break sensors. I'm still not sure why he was so insistent on looking through the entire house to find something I know isn't plugged in anywhere.

I think you're right about it not being a big deal to him and his probably seeing much worse. Right now no women in cages in my garage, or tables covered with powder and cash ?, but I know some people who think a rifle or ammo in sight is even worse! ?
Keep in mind that there are very few employees that's been in the field for a long time. Almost all current alarm companies run their 12v power behind the wall, and back out somewhere near an outlet to a plug in transformer. So that setup is all they would understand

Older homes, or self installers, may have a hardwired 12v transformer in a supply box some where, but would still be accessible.

Removing power, and a battery reset will fix most issues with alarm panels these days. They're being built to handle much more technology, but with low end specs.

For all I knew, you got a call from tech support about this supposed "problem" and they are asking you to see what's in your house and you are showing them.
Can you see low the lack of context could make people other than yourself who only know what they read in the first post think the same way?

I really would not worry about it unless you know that the tech was local. Most of the time, the techs that you call on the phone for major companies are who knows where in the US, so it's not a big deal that he knows you play with guns, he probably is not even in your state, much less town. If it was a local tech, you made the same mistake I would have made, not something I would lose sleep over. By the way, I am assuming you called him and not some random phone call, that would be a different story.
