    Shipping Ammo to CA

Can I ship ammo to myself in California from another state ( USPS, UPS or FedX) ?

Short answer, no. In actuality you probably can if you don't tell the carrier that it is ammo. If you get caught you will have troubles.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

I thought that we just could not buy online / out of state ammo. So if I find a good deal in Texas then ship it to myself, its a no go ?

I think that's considered "importing" ammo, which is a no-go. However if you brought your own ammo out of California to shoot in another state, I think it's OK to ship yourself the remaining ammo that you did not shoot.

My vote goes to no you can't.

What if you broke it down into shells, powder, and projectiles... and then shipped them in separate boxes? LMAO... technically speaking....

You should be able to with a COE and FFL since we can receive out of state shipments with those and I guess you could ship to yourself, but if you have those there would be no reason to do that either.

As others mentioned above, you normally cannot. But there are exemptions to the law that are worth reading.

Even though you are supposed to be able to purchase and have ammo shipped to you if you have a COE and FFL, good luck finding places that will do it. Midway USA will only ship to a FFL 01 or 07, and they have to order it directly from them, you can't order it and have it shipped to your FFL. Freedom Munitions will also only ship to an FFL with an ammo vendor license. California anti gunners are winning. They've got people scared to sell any gun related items to anyone in the state no matter what permits/licenses you have.

I have been tempted to get an ffl03 + coe but with all the issues over many vendors refusing to honor it plus the requirement to renew every year makes it much less of a benefit.
I am skeptical that this ffl03 exemption will survive for much longer, especially with the the political climate we are facing in the future.

It says he or she. We now can designate non binary. So good to go!
