That's why I asked the question, I respect all of your opinions. I just wish you could of heard our conversation on the phone. It was not given or percieved as a complaint, and I know that because the owner and I were laughing and communicating as fellow shooters would. He said that he was glad I called to just talk about it, and would remind his actor to just keep the guy skyward, as he had before, but it wasn't a deal breaker for either of us. He knew we enjoyed the ride and would be back. I know it's hard to convey emotional connections in a short text description, but again, I asked this to get your opinions and gain wisdom and perspective, and you have all helped. thanks

I recall shows where they had a full blown Wild West gun fight with black powder blanks

People got scared- blanks went away
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Very good comment, without the condescending remarks.

Its theater. We accept that simulation of reality to be entertained. We also trust there are safeguards in place to make sure nothing horrid happens... such as another Brandon Lee.

If the gun is permanently disabled it's a prop and not a firearm so it can be pointed at people. The uneasy feeling you get thinking it's a real gun is similar to the feeling you might get watching a video with a real gun pointed at the camera giving appearance it's pointed at you (we've had a thread about it recently).

In both cases it's your (correct) instincts about firearm safety that kick in and make you think, which is exactly how it should work. Once you get past the initial alert (red flag), your brain should take over and decide whether it's really a safety violation or not.

Also, calling to discuss instead of to complain is the right action if you wanted to raise the issue. The only thing I'd do differently is push for using a prop instead of pointing the gun into the sky.

Exactly. It's especially easy to do when there is no firing, only pointing.

You should see Taft Oildorado (every 5 years) where throughout the week the sheriff's "posse" square off against the Wooden Nickel gang throughout town with real blank firing 6-shooters. The Wooden Nickel Gang holds people up and the posse can arrest you in town.

Real question is why didn't the robber have two six guns?
