Hey everyone. After spending some time shooting 9mm guns, I finally purchased my first 1911. I will be picking up a Springfield MC Operator in about 9 days. This may be a dumb question but I was curious to know if there is a type of brass ammo it may not like. I'm going to be ordering in bulk and dont want to be stuck with 1k rounds of useless rounds. I know federal is always solid but it seems to be on the pricey side even in bulk. I see that Sellier & Bellot and fiocci are better priced and Ive never had a problem with it in 9mm. Anything I should stay away from? Thanks a lot!

Some 1911's feed everything...some don't like hollow points some don't like semi wad cutters
Long story short, try some before you buy some....
With the price of 45, reloading is a good optionRule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

I use both 200 and 230gr from freedom munitions. Good prices and decent quality. On occasion they are a bit slow to ship, but I usually receive an order within a weekComment

Only way to know is a bunch of random 50 rd boxes from wallyworldComment

My Sig 1911 has reliably digested everything I've thrown at it except Perfecta that I've bought at Walmart. Not the guns fault though, as I had failures in other guns with Perfecta also.
I had 6 FTF in one box of 50 on one outing. All primers had solid hits, but no bang.

Bad lot maybe? I've shot both perfecta 9mm and .45 and has no issues, it does have a little more muzzle flash than other brands though. The hottest .45 I've shot has been sellor&bellot .45. Noticeably more recoil in my G41. But like everyone suggests, buy a couple of boxes of different brands and run it through and you'll know what works and what doesn't.My Sig 1911 has reliably digested everything I've thrown at it except Perfecta that I've bought at Walmart.
