Beretta 1301 light recommendations

I just picked up a Beretta 1301. I need suggestions for a light.

GG&G has a quick detach sling and light mount - it looks a bit flimsy.

Also, considering the Odin works flashlight mount.

Streamlight protac light. I have one on my mossberg. On my 1301 I have the streamlight trl rm2 with pressure switch

Any light mount for the 1301 is going to be a little clunky. The GG&G mount is fine. The other choice is to get a barrel clamp with pic rail on it or a clamp that clamps onto the mag tube like an elzetta.

If you want something cleaner, you can get the aridus zhukov forend and use the mlok slots on it (GG&G makes one as well). Or get the Briley forend which has a bunch of mlok slots on it as well.

FYI, the new forend on the A300 Patrol has mlok slots at 3, 6, 9 and fits onto the 1301 according to beretta so that is another option if you can wait.

My Beretta 1301 Tactical came with a M-LOK slot on its barrel clamp (see picture below.)

I used the Surefire Micro Scout Pro light, which had a M-LOK mount.

The light was very lightweight (2.08 oz) and fit close to the gun (with its swivel mount.) I almost forgot it was there.

I forget that the newer models have the built in mag extensions with the mlok barrel clamp. My 1st gen comp didn't come with any of that stuff.

I picked up a Valhalla Tactical Baldr SOL wit the ODA tailcap. The tailcap is super nice as you are not limited to a push button for activation so the movement is more natural.

Nothing from GG&G is flimsy. Their stuff is top notch and rock solid. I use their sling mounts and sling/rail mounts on my 1301 and 590A1. Very high quality and it's a very clean, minimalist set-up.

I've since switched over to the GG&G sling mount with rail (instead of just the rail) for my 1301 since this photo was taken. The stock/OEM Beretta barrel clamp is crap and will not stay in pace, no matter how tight it is. If you're repeatedly mounting the shotgun from a slung position over and over, like in a multi-day class the clamp will always slide forward into the front sight. I've also read of accounts where people having this same issue tighten the clamp too much because it is sliding and they end up squashing the mag tube which prevents feeding and the shells get stuck.

i threw an olight baldr pro on mine to see how it would hold up (it has so far).
typically would use a streamlight or surefire, but this was the lightest option for wmls that i already had.
if price and weight isn't that critical, the surefire x400u is far superior.

I just took the OEM barrel clamp off and didn't replace it.

What is the purpose of the GG&G barrel clamp? Doesn't look like it has any QD connects or anything functional.

Already read it - you complained about the obvious crappy barrel clamp being loose. You didn't say anything about the stupid placement of your sling in front of light.

Even if the clamp wasn't loose, that would be an extremely poor setup.

Had your post indicated as such, we wouldn't have this conversation.
