What is THE fixed mag solution for 2025?

All of my rifles are featureless for Freedom Week mags but I am assembling an AR pistol so I don't have a choice, has to be mag locked. I bought a Juggernaut Hellfire but its still sitting in the parts bin. Before I assemble, I've been seeing posts about the Patriot Pin, I know there is the other mag lock
(whose name eludes me) where you have to drill into your receiver, which I am not thrilled about. What say you, especially for an AR pistol? Which mag lock do you have and why is it great? Seems like there are several choices and I've never shot with any of them so I have no idea whih one is the right
choice. Help me out.

Compmag, dude. Cross state line and it takes about 10-15 seconds to be normal and completely featured. Mine functions fine for range use and I love how the spring tension on the follower can be removed to clear a jam, though I haven’t had one yet.

Doesn't that take quite a while to load compared to dropping regular mags with a mag lock system? I've never used one but it seems super awkward, like loading my SKS from the bottom? Guess I need to look at some videos.
I've seen several users do incredibly fast and smooth mag changes with the other mag lock systems. I never go out of state to shoot my Commifornia neutered guns so not a factor for me.

Oh, it’s completely inadequate for anything other than range use. HAVING SAID THAT, it takes 10-15 seconds to not be completely inadequate for anything but range use. Thanks. I'm watching some reviews on YouTube. Seems great if you are shooting precision and if you have to clear double feeds. This is for an AR pistol so I guess I need to think about how I would actually like to train with this gun.

For range use it’s awesome. I had one malfunction in a few hundred rounds and all I did was pull down on the follower and open up the door. Everything just fell down. Let the follower back up and kept on shooting. I use it on my AR pistol as well. The magazine itself is beefy and not unpleasant to look at.

I had a CompMag for Aero M5 and one for FA CA7 and neither fed well so I ditched them for AR Maglock /Kingpin. Only issue I had with that so far was the Maglock arm was too long and it operated like a standard mag release. I filed the arm down until it didn’t.

It's interesting, the demand for maglock systems must be waning. The maglatchusa product above, out of stock. Several of the other solutions, (Patriot Pin, sold out) all out of stock and some looked like they were out of production, company showed OOS and a dozen retailers, OOS.
I ended up ordering the Cross Armory safe mag, I liked how all you do is crack the upper (I'll be using the Juggernaut pin) and the magazine falls out. All of these systems look like a compromise and if this doesn't work out, I will likely get the CompMag as it looks the easiest and most straightforward but really slow for reloads.

Too bad the tyrants up in Sacramento like to punish us with less safe, stupid solutions just to shoot our legally owned property and the worst part is, NONE of their idiotic laws help anyone, make anyone safer, it's all just BS masquerading their true agenda which is civilian disarmament.

So many people trash compmag but for range use it’s perfect, and if s.h.t.f. It takes a few seconds to remove. Seems like the biggest oxymoron to modify your rifle will all these parts for compliance yet act like it’s battle ready.

I have been using the Patriot pin with armaglock on my 556 pistols. The last Armaglock I used it with the hyperswitch. I dont like ti at all. It lets the top receiver flop completely open, unless you catch it or add another stupid lanyard crap to stop it from opening all the way. I am 100% more a Patriot Pin user with the armaglock.

I keep the original mag release in the magpul grip storage just in case I want an original rifle/pistol again. Fairly easy swap. No drilling and mag will drop free.
