    Are Grenade launchers/flare launchers(m203 style) legal ?

    I would like to know if grenade launchers/flare launchers(m203 style) legal to have on ar with mon-detachable mags.

    Yes. Flare launchers are legal in CA, grenade launchers are for all intents and purposes a non-starter. Spike's Tactical makes a 37mm launcher, as do a few other folks. There are several good enthusiast websites dedicated to the 37mm platform with LOTS of info on the technical and legal aspects of them. Long story short though, if you own a 37mm launcher, you CANNOT own any sort of anti-personnel round for it UNLESS it is registered as a Destructive Device with the ATF (an unlikely scenario here).

      (1) A flare launcher cannot be affixed to a semiauto centerfire rifle with detachable magazine. It could be on a fixed-mag build however. Practically, I don't see why you'd want one on a rifle. Just makes it harder to handle and *** the 'asshat factor' to it, IMHO.

      (2) A grenade launcher is intrinsically illegal (a "destructive device") whether or not it's attached to any firearm. Don't have one, period.
