How to DIY Kydex grip wrap?

Can anyone share how to do it? Wanna make them (AR, AK, Kriss etc...) featureless.

    Thanks!

    easy peasy

get the kidex sheet squares and some t-bolt screws (amazon). google image grip wraps to know where youre headed... if you cut the square into thirds length wise, you'll save on waste.

use ovgloves or leather work gloves, grab a heat gun (harbor freight) and apply heat evenly from the middle of the strip outwards. the kydex will get soft, you can smell it, and use your hands to shape the kydex around the grip. when you get it right, pinch/hold until it cools then drill and screw it down.... you can cut the shape with sheet metal snips, and use a file to take down the edges to smooth. reheat and massage more if needed to get the grip shape, center, etc.

you tube is also your friend.

Agreed, thanks for tips. Just ordered some kydex sheets and screws on Amazon. I'm fine running a grip wrap on my AK (no BB!) so I can adapt with the AR...also got a couple of ambi safeties.

I second munkeeboi. Hard to beat the price and the fit is perfect. Easy to deal with.

                  don't forget

other than fixed stock, need to remove flashhider (thread protector, or muzzle break).

for ~25$ in materials you'll be able to make a handfull of grips wraps, and your man card will get a little thicker too

Have fun droppin mags as the gods intended

This is one of the best articles I found on making your own grip wraps - It got me successfully started and I've now made more then a few. And apparently will need to start making more very soon!

I get my Kydex sheets through Amazon. I normally make mine all one piece, using a manila folder to make my template, then tracing the image onto the cold Kydex.
