    Marlin 1894 Scope Mount

I am leaning towards a scope mount that allows use of the stock iron sights... (44 Remmag)

And scope magnification range suggestions welcomed...

    Any suggestions ?

FWIW I mounted a 2.5 power Simmons scope on mine. Just enough glass for plinking and target shooting.

I'm sure someone will soon chime in and suggest a 2 X 12 tactical sniper scope.

Good point, this IS only for plinking and target shooting.
You notice I did not ask for scope recommendations, for that very reason..

Yes sir that is why I put FWIW. OTOH you did ask about power/magnification.

I really enjoy the 2.5 and I had a 4X mini scope before that one.

            You did!

You know the 44 mag shoots like a rainbow.

This would be a fun setup. Period correct for an 1894.

This mounting kit is also compatible with the Henry Big Boy lever action rifles. The Marlin '94/'95 mount goes into existing drilled holes on the barrel and the rear dovetail. Thus, no drilling and

I would lean towards a compact 1.5-4x. Would be a nice fit for a compact carbine.

For mount I like the Skinner express scope mount, with qd talley rings. From scoped to iron sights in about 3 seconds, and Skinner makes quality products. Xs lever rail is also very good. They sell a post that allows screw in apertures, need to dig around the website to find it.

I would not recommend trying to get super high see through rings however. Sorta worst of both worlds imo.

I added a skinner to my lever gun. I went with a peep sight.

Peep sights are superior to the buckhorn to me.

Friends suggested a LPVO but I think I’ll stick with a peep.

Very happy with the skinner product on lever guns

orange, if you're interested, somewhere in this mess I have a Weaver mount and a hammer extension off a Marlin.
