HK CC9 and VP9A1 coming to the roster

So I was trying to buy a VP9SK for the past few months and every dealer I visited or called told me the same thing all VP9 models are are now discontinued.

Which was shocking since they just barely came to California a few months ago while being available for years out of state.

But luckily we are in luck HK instead are now focusing on bringing the current models to the roster to replace them.

So the VP9A1 F and VP9A1 K are replacing the old VP9 and the CC9 is replacing the VP9SK. I actually saw and handled a CA compliant VP9A1 F at a dealer it was a dealer sample so they are ready to go but they are waiting CA to approve it and add it to the roster.

As for the CC9 I just sent a email to HK USA asking about the VP9SK and they confirmed the that as they quoted "We are waiting for California to approve the CC9 to be added to the Roster."

Which is great I'll be buying a CC9 as soon as one hits store shelves.

I'll be putting a deposit on a CC9 on the first day possible.

I don't know, while the CC9 looks nice, it's not inexpensive and if you watch all of the reviews, it doesn't shoot any better than a Shield Plus or a P365. I was interested, but subcompacts, in a way, are all the same, same limitations.
Seems like a chunk of change, you'll be paying considerably more than people in America pay and you'll have to kick Gav Boy his 11% extortion feel as well. Are you going to end up around $1,000 OTD for the CC9 here?

There is a HK dealer where I live that sells firearms at MSRP which for the CC9 is $700.00 with tax and CA tax would be about $840.00 OTD. I really don't like sub compacts as my go to gun but since I'm going to apply for my CCW it's the perfect fit vs trying to carry a full size.

I've tried a Sig 365 and I can get one for only $500.00 before fees, I understand why it was such a hit in the micro compact world. It shot fine but didn't win me over to the point that I have to get one right away. Same with the Glock 26 thought I would love it but I could not shoot it for the life of me. And with the VP9SK being almost impossible to find and the ones I did being $1.000.00 to $1,150.00 and it being discontinued the CC9 seems to be the best fit for what I'm looking for.

I may still pick up something else since they allow 3 guns to be on your permit.

HK trying to align its products to compete directly with Glock - VP9A1- Glock 17, VP9A1K - Glock 19, CC9-Glock 26/43.

CC9 however is slimer than either Glock 26/43 at just under 1" at full 10 rounds. Same size as Shield but more round count.

I was an early VP9 system adaptor back in 2014 and I own VP9 / VP9 LS and a VP9sk and the sk does shoot like a much bigger handgun. VERY similar to the VP9 std. The CC9 should be a very welcome evolution.

That's a bummer. So you have to wait two years?

no just have to mentally justify paying for a change. it's a bit of a pain cause you gotta shoot with the new gun and pay for that. and of course schedule the shoot. and at least around me, the CCW shoot/classes are not times that are super convenient for me

At least you have the option. In my county, we can only add during renewal so once every two years. But yes, sounds like a PITA to do so for you.

ah yeah we can change without waiting for 2 year cycle. and honestly it isnt THAT hard to do so, it's just inconvenient. course it's not like any part of the process is all that convenient.
