    CA SIG P226

I am hearing that SIG has ceased production of the CA compliant P226 9mm. Has anyone else come across this information from credible sources ?

As long as there's a market to sell enough volume of the CA P226, Sig would likely not discontinue...
I've not heard of any rumors to discontinue and since Sig is still producing other versions of the P226, it's not like the CA version is the sole remaining model...

If you've been thinking of getting one, then just get one...

      Stay away from Californicated P226

Be patient and seek the un-CA P226.

BTW - today is 226 day (Feb 26th) and Sig is promoting a 'buy a 226 and get $226 for their Sig Store'...

My FFL said they discontinued the standard california p226 model. He told me that late last year.

I think what that means is it is no longer in their rotation of production. I would imagine they'll bring it back in a year or two.

CA P226 doesn't look great, but I'm sure functionally it is fine.

I have a P220 and love it, so I'm not in the market for a P226 myself.

I was going to take advantage of that to offset the 11% tax on a new P226. But the only thing I can really use or need from the Sig Store is ammunition. Typed in my zip code, and naturally "restricted" in my area (i.e., Sig won't ship ammo to CA).

PSA is currently offering the CA-approved P226 for $799.99:

Nope too late for those, and I remembered I already have a 229 with a .40 and a .357 Sig barrel. I had to bring it out from the back of the safe (it's an old guy with no rail on the chin).

I like the .357 Sig. It doesn't put a hole in an empty 12 oz. container, it tears it in half. Thus it is named 'shredder' as is my 1911 when it sports the .400 corbon.

Sadly the 227 is no more.
