“Covert” means you don’t openly display it

”Kovert” means you post about it on social media as much as you can. (Check out their instagram)

Very cool. Have never even heard of it and I'm aware of most all of the esoteric 2011 builders. Thanks for sharing, something to research.

I agree, very cool. Considering some of the 2011’s are north of $8k this one’s a bargain if it runs right.

So a quick and dirty range report on the Kovert X Apache. After picking up the gun I did a field strip and closer inspection. Lubed and reassembled. The fit and finish is solid as you'll see from the pictures. It's not Infinity or Atlas level, but it's not so far off that it's a glaring difference. The final finishing with the controls (thumb safety, slide stop etc...is a bit more carefully done and better than the other Apaches (Pew View, Demolitia and Unlimited.) The slide doesn't operate quite as smooth due to the PVD coatings of the other models - this one is DLC - but it is still clean and no binding on the slide to frame. There is just the slightest bit of catch on the disconnector if you run the slide slowly. No rattle of any kind, up and down or sideways. The DLC coating and finishing on the gun is great. Clean and business like. More of a matte finish than the PVD models. Barrel lock up is like a bank vault. No movement even if you push on it.

Trigger pull is crisp and clean. Smallest take up with a clean break. No creep. Reset is short and positive. I don't have a trigger gauge so rough estimate on my part, about 3.5 lbs. Not the lightest, but quite alright as I do intend to carry this gun. I will leave the trigger alone. No tuning needed.

At the range, gun ran without a malfunction. Tested with the following ammunition:

100 rounds Blazer 115 gr. fmj
50 rounds SAR 124 gr. fmj
50 rounds Federal 124. gr. HST
50 rounds American Eagle 147 gr. flat point

I used lock back Atlas mags, 126mm and 140mm both NORMAL capacity and CA 10 rounds neutered. All functioned perfectly and locked back without a problem. The indoor range I use only goes to 12 yards so not the best test of accuracy but keeping 5 rounds into a small cloverleaf was not a problem for the gun. So far, I'm happy with the final result and glad that Kovert made sure that Watchtower delivered gun that was acceptable to their standards.
