    Glock 21 or 30.

        I am looking at an m&p45 or an xd45 for HD. Since I can't have a 1911
I refuse to buy a glock, don't like em.
Quite possibly a cz97b instead also

HK45C variant 1 if a righty. (da/sa with safety/decocker control lever on the left.)
US Navy's Mk24 handgun is the HK45CT for tactical and includes a threaded barrel. It is a fantastic well vetted sidearm for duty use.

My vote would be for a Smith model 625 but if you have to go autochucker Sig 220 or CZ97.

              P220 for me... I'd also consider a CZ97...

Hands down SIG 220... I personally will not use any firearm with a manual safety for duty/home defense, in a stressful situation each step you have to take in order to fire your weapon is not only time but liability as well.

My second choice would be a CZ 97B. I'm not a little guy so the larger pistols on my hip are not an issue.

Glocks are highly regarded as well, but just not for me.

I'm surprised no one had mentioned it. Only drawback would be the longer slide taking a fraction of a second more to draw compared to other pistols. I love mine, although i do not carry it.
