Your ideal CCW guns under $1300

I wanted to post this here rather than in the handguns forum because I want a CCW focused approach. Meaning weight, comfort, and concealability are important--not just "the coolest gun"

    So here's my question!

What one, or two, guns would you pick if you could pick any 2 guns to use as your CCW guns. They have to be priced under $1300 MSRP (they don't have to add up to less than 1300). You can pick any gun that you'd actually use for CC, and doesn't have to be on roster.

The M&P's and Glocks are really hard to beat. There are lots of variants in each product line...some a little bigger, some a little smaller, some a little slimmer, etc., and they're all very high quality and relatively easy to enhance to your personal taste.

My personal favorite is 4.25" M&P CORE in 9mm, w/ a Trijicon 06 optic, and an Apex flat trigger w/forward set sear...in red...because I'm spicy like that.

I'd take my P365, Shield, or Hellcat. 9mm . With or without a red dot.

When I ask myself this question, I still come back to a Glock-like gun. A Sig 365, or a Glock 43x, or M&P Shield, or some other single stack 9mm polymer framed gun.

Even if I expanded the price to include absurdly cool guns like a Wilson Combat 1911, I wouldn't pick it because its too heavy, don't want a safety, don't want 45acp.

What I discovered when I thought about this was that, even having the roster and using a gen 3 Glock 17, I still would probably pick something that is basically the same as what I already carry: a Glock 17.

It's cool that price really isn't the determining factor for my ideal carry gun.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have expensive carry guns too, but practically, I prefer a lightweight, striker fired 9mm semi-auto. Maybe a Smith 360PD for the pocket of my workout shorts =)

G19/23 or G26, just depends on what you shoot best with.

As some say, money shouldn’t matter if it defends you and does it’s job, whether it be on/off roster.

That’s why so many carry Glocks.

G23 is my favorite of the bunch.

The rest of my guns are getting harder to replace and my dailies are now commodity parts that I can trust.
This. I had my Wilson Combat on my ccw when I first got issued and thought I was cool. My license lapsed and when I reapplied and took my training my instructor talked about carrying something that you arnt afraid to lose forever potentially. I run all glocks now with an RMR. Gen 3 with an RMR fits the bill at right around 1k. The 43x with the RMRcc is pretty nice I will say, but that doesnt count because youll pay the cali premium for it. If I had to say one gun for that money I have no regrets with my G19 and an rmr.

If I lived in Colorado it would be the Sig 365 and 320.

Can buy both new for a bit more than that $1300 price tag

I like my Ruger LC9S PRO

9MM, small. Perfect for light clothing.

                            Winter Glock 19.

The PRO model has no safety, no magazine disconnect, smooth trigger. To avoid shooting my pickle I carry it in this kydex holster. Very reliable.

May the Bridges I burn light the way.

For me it's a Glock 26, 43X or 19, with the 26 getting the nod on most days. I also have a 640 Pro I carry on occasion.

If I could only keep one it would be the 26.
