    New "policy" on SFPD website

Hi all! No movement on my process to report; however, I did note that there is now a "revised" CCW policy on the SFPD website. At least I had not seen this one before, and I feel like I have been paying close attention.

Either way, here it is: https://www.sanfranciscopolice.org/s...ad20221103.pdf

I don't feel like they are adhering to their "timeliness" process. Here is my timeline:

6/24/2022 - Initially tried to turn in an application - Complete silence, NO JOKE: They thought I wanted a CCW because Roe was overturned and had no idea about Bruen!

7/19/2022 - First round interview with Officer Johnson - Turned in Application, COE, FFL03, Proof of previous training (Monterey County), 3 personal references.

9/16/2022 - Second round interview with Sgt Zhang - Provided proof of residency (which they did not tell me to bring but had with me). - Radio silent since then.

Two rounds of in person interviews? Was there an issue in your background check? I havent heard of any city / county doing 2 rounds - Crazy!

Most have had to do at least two so far (in SF), and likely a 3rd since they did not do my fingerprints or collect any fees.

And I highly suspect the chief of police will have the craziest, strictest definition of "good moral character" which basically means if you have ever had a speeding ticket (moving violation), you're denied. I have heard this is happening in other counties.
Any Calgunner that needs a character reference can PM me your info. I'll write a character reference.

Fair point. All my experience so far has been with SFPD.

Under B. 3. “Applicants must” it says pass a psychological evaluation administered by SFPD approved psychologist. Has anyone done that post Bruen for a SFPD CCW?

Not that I am aware of, and I feel like I was an early applicant, no word on this step yet.

I did follow up with the Sgt who did my 2nd interview 3 months ago, got his voice mail, no call back at all. They will drag this out as long as possible.

SFPD specifies 16 hours or more of approved training. SFSO just says approved training. Does anyone know how many hours SFSO requires for an initial application?

Neither states how many handguns can be listed on their permit. Both policies refer only to “the firearm.” Does anyone know how many SFPD allows? SFSO?

Both require psychological evaluations. Neither state cost of that. How much is it for SFSO? For SFPD?

Both require in person interviews. What was that like for SFSO? For SFPD?

Neither list application fees. How much did you pay prior to a decision for SFSO? For SFPD?

How much did you pay in total for SFSO? For SFPD?

I wonder if the 2nd round interview (where proof of residency was required) with SFPD constitutes as the psychological evaluation. Nothing was implicitly stated that it was.

Based on the timeline given to me from the officer during the 2nd interview (which I would take with a grain of salt), here's the next steps:
                              • Officer submits his review to the chief of police after verifying references
                              • Chief of Police "pre-approves" app; applicant comes in for Livescan (must be on-site and not at a 3rd party livescan facility)
                              • Applicant must complete and submit proof of training
                              • Chief conducts final app review and grants CCW

For those applying with SFPD; did I miss or step, or did you hear differently?

Is there any class action case starting to get put together for them not following their timing guidelines 90days 30 days etc?
