Picked up my permit today from Coco County. It was just one DL exact size with photo and
info on front and 2 weapons approved and right thumb print on back. No additional paper. I asked the admin agent and he informed me the additional paper is not being done anymore. The few issues I had after receiving my time slot availability for the qualification range session were handled by 2 super helpful gals, Michelle and Ciarree effectively. Time frame from Livescan received to qualification date was exactly one year to the day and permit pick up was 3 1/2 weeks due to a processing delay. Used Paladin Tactical for the two 8 hour classes ... CCW1 Foundations and Basic Pistol given at USI. Would definitely recommend. If you complete the CCW1-Foundations class you can submit that with 2 hard card fingerprints (I got from the same livescan office), and apply for the Out of State Arizona CCW permit with reciprocity in many states as well. Out of State Utah requires a bit more effort but it covers Nevada which CA and AZ do not.Comment

My trainer provided the service for Utah and Arizona as part of the CA required training, for an additional fee to cover the extra state specific training requirements and materials/fingerprinting. It requires a non-resident permit application form, training certificate and fingerprint card. If you did not get this as part of your CA training you will need to contact your trainer and ask how to do it. Likely it will require an additional training class.Comment

For the Utah CCW permit you find an instructor that teaches the UTAH class in your area
and they will walk you through the app and all after the classroom training.
I found one in Santa Rosa for 4/6/24 with Armed Self Defense Institute (ASDI).
Probably call around for some others.Comment

Has everyone given up?
Can anyone share any updates? Anyone make any progress? Last I heard they were still on applications from April of last year. Pretty messed up they're moving this slowly. As a resident of Pleasant Hill, has anyone found out any alternatives to speed up the process? I know concord PD is issuing for residents. Haven't gotten an answer about Pleasant Hill.
ThanksComment

I recently got my license. Timeline as follows:
7/22/22: submitted application
2/3/23: requested status update, learned I was supposed to also submit Livescan (I thought I had to wait for some kind of acceptance notification)
2/3/23: submitted Livescan, clock now starts on application.
11/15/23: directed to resubmit application electronically (CCSO switched to Permitium)
11/29/23: received notice that application was approved. Next step is mandatory training.
***waited a couple months to see how SB2 went, training now 16 hours instead of 8***
2/3/24: 1st 8 hour training class
3/14/24: 2nd 8 hour training class
3/20/24: scheduled CCSO quals
***practiced a lot at local range***
4/20/24: passed CCSO quals
4/22/24: paid application fee, scheduled pickup date.
4/26/24: picked up CCW license at CCSO (took <5 minutes).
Being pro-gun rights in the Bay Area is like being a vegan at an Outback Steakhouse. You know you're right but nobody gives a damn.Comment
