I could not find anything about CCWs on Oakland PDhttps://www.oaklandca.gov/departments/police
The cities I emailed, responded that they are in contact with ACSO and will eventually have an update. I did not contact OPD or Piedmont

However, it doesn't seem like the SLPD website has anything set up, despite these documents being released a few months ago. As usual, doesn't seem like they're in any sort of hurry to start processing CCW applications. Still hopeful that there's something on the horizon besides waiting ~2 years for ACSO to process an application.Last edited by kevmomo; 06-25-2024, 4:53 AM.👍 1Comment

How to renew? I received my CCW from ACSO earlier this year. So I have 1.5 years or so before I have to renew but I want to track the situation. My question is, if one got their CCW through ACSO, will they be handling renewals down the road or is everything being shoved off to local PD's? My local PD would be Pleasanton.Pleasanton CA, Citori 725 Trap Max, Benelli M2, SW 686, CZ 75, SP01, and others.Comment

So what happens if my local PD has not started handling renewals by then? Might just be my paranoia, but this seems like a ploy to shut down CCW permits in Alameda County. The County foists it off on the local PD's and the local PD's just never start handling permits. Those of us that got, they will just expire and those without, will never get them.

How long does it usually take for Judea to respond to an email? The only thing that is worse than an idiot, is someone who argues with one.Comment

It is not looking good for folks who obtained their CCW license from the Alameda County Sheriff department and need to renew with the Hayward Police Department.
According to the information on the Hayward Police Department website, they do not process renewals for licenses issued by other agencies. Instead, individuals with expiring CCW licenses from another agency will need to apply as new applicants with the Hayward Police Department.
