Required re-qualify at the one year mark still in place?
If this is still the case, it will clog up the initial issue system won't it?
Not looking forward to getting back into this system again.
Now seven or eight months in and really not seeing the progress as it should be.
Seems this re-qualify is a extra cost that was not supposed to be allowed.
Why wouldn't CRPA at least question this and amend the original letter to the ACSO that got some action?Last edited by Calif Mini; 10-05-2023, 3:51 PM......AR 15 tools.....

Please email them mentioning the issues. Enough complaints will help in getting Alameda back on the radar and move them closer to the front of action. CRPA, through the attorney provided a satisfactory response to my complaint. While not perfect, it shows they have a strategy. Keep the pressure on as the squeaky wheel thing. The only thing that is worse than an idiot, is someone who argues with one.Comment

I just submitted my application in Alameda County on 10/6/23. I know it?s going to be a long wait. The person who teaches CCW classes at my club recommended doing my livescan right away to shorten the wait. Has anyone done this in Alameda County, and would you recommend it?
Also, I had a dui about 35 yeas ago that I put down under section 7; question 6- list any arrests or formal charges. I didn?t put it under section 2; question 9- have you ever been convicted of a criminal offense. Should I amend my application to include it there as well?Comment

This is interesting. So you applied 8/2/22 and you are 1019 in the queue, I applied 8/7/22 and I am 901 in the queue (according to Judea). I wonder if their queue is screwed up lol.Comment

Yeah, that doesn't sound right but maybe they gave me the wrong queue number. Today, I received email to schedule my livescan. I was offered this Saturday but I am down in Mexico until next Wednesday. I scheduled my scan for 10/28. So I am now in the game.Pleasanton CA, Citori 725 Trap Max, Benelli M2, SW 686, CZ 75, SP01, and others.Comment

Was queue # 855. Got the email from Judea yesterday to schedule the livescan. Grabbed Oct 14th. She will email next steps upon completion of the livescan process.
Looks like they've adjusted to have livescan come before the interview (or maybe this is person/application dependent)?Comment

Just got approval to begin training/qualification. I never got my exact application number but it was around 800 or so.
Here's been my timeline:
7/22/2022 Application
8/4/2023 Interview
9/1/2023 LiveScan
9/9/2023 LiveScan Complete
9/28/2023 Psych. Eval.
10/9/2023 Approved for Training
Now I've been hoping to get a CA-approved P365XL for EDC but that's still going to be a while before anything is added to the roster. I presume rather than wait, it's better just to keep progressing with the training/qual with my current gun, get the license, and then just go through whatever additional qualifications are needed for adding a new one later...
Meanwhile, here is the list of training vendors they approved as of 10/9:
Marshall Kamena - 925.784.3448 -eyedoc7@pacbell.net or eyedoc300@gmail.com
Security Six - Larry Hamby - 925.443.6676 ? securitysix.com
LEO Defensive Concepts - Joe Leonardo - 209.321.9692 - leodefensiveconcepts.com
2A Firearms Academy - Doug Kevilus ? 707.410.0389 - contact@2afirearmsacademy.com
Fisher Executive Protection Set Free Side Arm Training ? Robert Santiago - 510.295.0409 ? rob@sfstraining.com
Antjuan Fisher (c/o Mona Ellington) ? 510.473.2175 -Afisher@FisherEP.com; FEPLLC@FisherEP.com
Set Free Side Arm Training ? Robert Santiago - 510.295.0409 ? rob@sfstraining.com
Bay Area Tactical Group ? 415.568.6803 ? batinstructors@gmail.com
Crisis 24 ? Greg Downey ? 510.784.1562 ? gad8008@gmail.com
Dapper Defense - Michael Dapper ? 510.385.3147 ? michael@dapperdefense.net
Any thoughts/recommendations/warnings about any of these options??Last edited by CalBear92; 10-10-2023, 6:24 PM.Comment
