Precursor gun part laws, EFFECTIVE 1-July-2024
As I'm not sure, have gun part precursor laws been passed and signed into law here in California?
If so, when are these law coming into effect? Are 80% receivers going to be part of these laws? Are featureless AR's going to be targeted next? Thanks for any information on these issues. |

I just wanted to bring this to to everyone's attention. The Department of Finance is pushing through Budget Trailer Bill Language, as part of the 2020 Budget Act, to change the firearms precursor parts July 1, 2024 implementation date to July 1, 2022.
To see this for yourself, go to the Department of Finance website below that lists all of the budget trailer bills here: https://esd.dof.ca.gov/dofpublic/trailerBill.html Click on the Firearms: Precursor Parts (updated: 01/31/2020) link, to be taken to the language of the trailer bill or go directly to the bill's link here: https://esd.dof.ca.gov/dofpublic/pub...lerBill/pdf/39 SEC. 6. Section 30412 of the Penal Code is amended to read: 30412. (a) (1) Commencing July 1, 2024, 2022, the sale of a firearm precursor part by any party shall be conducted by or processed through a licensed firearm precursor part vendor. SEC. 7. Section 30414 of the Penal Code is amended to read: 30414. (a) Commencing July 1, 2024, 2022, a resident of this state shall not bring or transport into this state a firearm precursor part that they purchased or otherwise obtained from outside of this state unless they first had that firearm precursor part delivered to a licensed firearm precursor part Because this trailer bill is part of the budget, beyond the basic budget hearings, this bill will not see much if any publicity or public scrutiny, and will pass when the budget gets passed by the legislature next week. |

Were they were furring to upper receivers as well?
Dictated but not read, voice typing plus bad eyes equals typos

"including both a single part receiver and a multiple part receiver, such as a receiver in an AR-10- or AR-15-style firearm"
So apparently, yes. I wonder if that also refers to a finished upper? |
