Bummer.
I am in Connecticut that weekend.

I did go fishing this morning and we came home with a catfish so I am going to do my own fish fry tonight.

That looks like Summer venison jerky right there! Except, a bit out of season.

Default Well, it took a while but it's finally home.

It came in from Montana.

It's a Marlin 1894 FG, .41 Magnum and it looks brand new!

Looks like a remlin... I've always thought that they used the nicest wood. I guess we'll see what Ruger does.

Got to love it Bob...that's a valuable caliber too.

I would have drove to Montana to pick it up...that's cause I like the drive.

Nice, Bob!

And that's some sweet grain in that wo0d, too.

Can't wait to send some downrange together. Dual .41s blasting away!

not my greatest feat on gunbroker by any means but I knew it was mine the minute I saw it - happy father's day

Ruger Blackhawk - .45 Cal - Mfg 1971 - No Transfer Bar - W/2 Cylinders BOX!

not unhappy with the price but too bad clyde cost me about $500 - no, really

only current comp on gb and not exactly what I was looking for, brass rarity or not..

1972 Ruger Blackhawk .45 LC Brassie 4-5/8” Old Model 3 Screw 2PL6-LNLX

27 bids sold for $1782 but relisted at $2500 bn

I was actually mowing my lawn at auction close

checks all my boxes;
my year
first year edition (45)
low four digit serial
only made three years (old model - three screw)
low production (last year serial starts 21,804)
unmolested
convertible with both cylinders factory hand engraved
correct box, velvet bag and spare cylinder box
adjustable sights (super)
SR medallion grips
short 'gunslinger' barrel
clean enough to look at - worn enough to shoot
nice addition to my '71 ruger lineup

just don't tell Randall how much I paid LoL

but after dickin' around on a 4" 71 python, 4" '71 combat magnum, and a few others on my list - figured it was time to close a deal

unfortunately I'm heading back to the farm for a month so it'll be august before I bring it home..

There's a nice Marlin 336 in 35 remington on gun broker with a minimum bid $899 . It was just re- listed as it went without bids the last cycle.
It's just out of my budget right now, I thought one of you guys might be interested. Looks to be in very good condition. It does have micro groove rifling though.
Made in 1963

I won one on gunbroker last year for $695 by being the high bidder so it's no surprise to me that an $899 opening bid would go unanswered.

20 gauge. I think I'm gonna bob the barrel a bit and keep it under the truck seat. For the occasional grouse and other stuff.

Oh my!! Most of it looks pretty good, Bob.

Are you gonna reload those reloads ?

You guys are killing me with those 41 mag guns. That one Apples has is a darn good shooter.
Do you plan to reload those reloads?

Well, it was advertised as (and I believe it to be) factory Winchester ammunition. It came from LSB in Simi.
It's about 75% RNFP and 25% RNHP.

It was all in a single ammo can.

I put it in the red cases and piled it that way to sort it and to confirm the count.

And yes, I do plan to reload 'em.

I know the feeling, you guys led me down the path a couple of years ago to get the Marlin in 357/38 that I had always wanted.

Then there was all the 45 LC talk & pictures posted here. Even though I told myself I wasn't going to add any new calibers, you guys subliminally (over time) convinced me that I needed something in 45 LC and I ended up with the Cattleman. I have my eye on a Marlin in 45 LC to go with it, I'm just waiting for the seller to have some free time.

I'm trying like hell to block out thoughts of acquiring a 44 mag/44 spl Marlin and a revolver to go with it.

I've got a HF tumbler with steel pins, will that work and is it safe?

Is there anyplace in the valley to get a different type of media that would work with it?

You have the wet HF tumbler? I use SS pins and chips along with some Franklin Arsenal brass cleaner. They come out better then new you can also use a little Dawn and citric acid..

Yes and I've used the method you described for brass. I guess I can go get some dry media and try and tumble live ammo with it.

Thanks KB for the great pics contribution to this thread!

I gotta get to that museum. The arrangement of firearms in those categories is just too interesting not to see firsthand.
