Default Army radiology equipment tech gone Rambo

I jest at the Rambo reference, but I would like to shake this NCO's hand.

Army guys should understand the below.

For others, this is the Jr NCO promotion point requirements by MOS. 800 points is the absolute most points that can be earned toward E5/E6 promotion if every category is maxed out. 798 is the highest cut off used to "manage" promotions at the MOS level, and still not technically say they aren't promoting those MOS/Grade. But we all "get it".

So I commonly look to see just how high some soldiers were able to jump.

Someone beat a 740 point threshold.

Also impressive is within that MOS were 34 other soldiers "ELIGIBLE" at 740 points that didn't get picked up, which probably means there are going to be 34 high speed Radiology Repair Techs hitting the civilian job market.

I'm still looking for that 798 soldier.

Yea know, it just occurred to me. I wonder if Army Human Resources Command is looking at this data as a way to head off attrition of good soldiers.

We see here in this example 34 soldiers with 740 promotion points (all E5's at this point). They've nearly maxed every category of measurement:
Civilian Education
Military Education and training
Military Awards and Certificates of Achievement
Fitness score
Marksman score

I'm guessing, these soldiers fell short of being perfect 800's based on military awards (because that's the only thing not really in their full control).

Anyway, I just see data of those high speeds that got passed up, and are now asking themselves, is this all worth it?

here's the link

12B

You only need 40 to get to E5

but need 418 to get to E6 (not impossible, but you need a legit effort).

Interesting take. Considering Rad techs get just about shy of an AA from AIT, plus can sit for national registry and become Licensed, go civilian and get paid upwards of 40 dollars an hour, I'd assume most will get out.

I met a 68P who put in for an identifier to become a nuclear tech...as an E5. So that's an additional skill that Soldier will take with them when they don't make points. If I was in that boat, I'd lock up a civ job and ETS.
