I think you'd be a great person to help folks get to know us better.

Given my current limitations, this appears to be about all I'm good for right now.

Of course, standing around bull****ting with people all day is something I'm pretty good at, so it should work out just fine.

Parking and entry for volunteers may be reimbursed by proceeds from booth sales; please keep and forward receipts to me for *ALL* reimbursed costs (thru the coordinator).

How is the Cal expo gun show these days? It's been almost 10yrs since i've been to a gun show. Is it worth my time and money to go the cal expo show or go to another near by show.

Sounds like there are enough people helping with the needs mentioned.

Is there anything else we can do like arrive early and help set up, clean up after, help stage stuff etc?

I'm sure there will be something to do if you swing by; regardless, check out J&R's great selection and what I'm sure will be some killer deals.

Could probably rake in a lot of donations if you accepted them for tazering. Not sure if I can make it, but i will try.

Current crew schedule:

Saturday: All day: Stormfeather, MrNiceGuy, Lateralus, QuarterBoreGunner, blisster

Ivanimal (8-12), JDberger (8-12), B Strong (8-12), Ghost (12-3), SJGunGuy24 (12-5), Librarian (12-5), VladButsky (Saturday afternoon preferred)

Sunday: All day: Lateralus, Marshaul (tentative)

TheDrickel (12-5), Oaklander (12-5)

In but shifts unscheduled/tentative: Berto (needs ride from Berkeley), Steyr_223, Dr. Peter Venkman, Movie_Zombie, TheMPOPresence, Hoffmang, Bwiese

Sunday just got a bit thinner as a result of folks changing to work the J&R Customer Appreciation day. Can any of the unscheduled/tentative people chime in on whether you are still planning to come, and if you are available on Sunday?

IMPORTANT!

If you do not yet have a Calguns.net Polo and are volunteering at the booth, and would like a polo, you need to log on to http://gunsr4.us/html/polos.html and place your order there.

You can either have the order shipped direct to your house or have it shipped to me with the rest of the booth materials and pick it up from me at the show. The Polos cost $20.

PLEASE TAKE CARE OF THIS TONIGHT OR TOMORROW TO ENSURE YOU RECEIVE YOUR SHIRT BEFORE THIS WEEKEND.

Also, I need someone who can help make a frame for the booth, as I've been informed that the one that we'd planned on using is apparently unavailable. The advice I received was to make it from ABS instead of PVC, as it looks cleaner. I have the schematic if anyone has the skills and tools necessary.

REALLY glad you reminded me to order the polo; just did it. Okay to pick it up that morning at the booth? I put a note to that effect in the email from PayPal, but just want to make sure everything is cool.

Let me know if that sounds like a plan, okay?

Make sure you let Vick know which booth you're attached to when ordering a polo.

Polo ordered, but unsure what you meant Brandon by "which booth you're atatched to" . . . how many booths we have at this show?

WRT which event (my fault for being unclear); Vick needs to know what coordinator/show to send it to, otherwise your polo may end up in Sacto or San Diego.

ETA: Vick sends to the individual by default IIRC.

Just found out I may be out of state for this one guys; I'll keep you posted but I'd assume I won't be there. Lindz may make an appearance but TBD.

Personally, the idea of being electrocuted is unappealing, and if something goes wrong, will turn a great day at J&R's into an anti-gunner's field day. Imagine the headline: "Gun nut volunteers for tazering--and has seizure/heart attack/etc."

Why not just enjoy the food and good company?

You're in Sacramento? No show more nearby than the Cal Expo show.

No specific dress code, but the more presentable you look, the better. The de facto uniform is a Calguns polo shirt, so combine a nice shirt (if you don't have a polo) with a clean pair of pants (jeans are fine, but try to stick to a well maintained pair) will be fine.

ROE will be very simple: explain to people what Calguns is and is all about, the efforts of the CGF, the previous successes and future battles, and how they can help out. We'll have demo models of off list toys like ARs/AKs and their pistol variants to pique curiosity, then we can explain to folks about how and why the firearms are legal.

Flowcharts and other printed materials will be available for sale with the proceeds going to CGN/CGF (gotta verify again which group gets proceeds from the sales), while there will be a separate donation till for straight CGF donations. Encouraging people to donate money to CGF and explaining how that money will be used is another duty.

All in all, it's straightforward.

Current crew schedule:

Saturday: All day: Stormfeather, MrNiceGuy, Lateralus, QuarterBoreGunner, blisster

Ivanimal (8-12), JDberger (8-12), B Strong (8-12), Ghost (12-3), SJGunGuy24 (12-5), Librarian (tentative, 12-5), VladButsky (Saturday afternoon preferred)

Sunday: All day: Lateralus, Marshaul, sytfu_RR (tentative)

Steyr_223 (8-12), TheDrickel (12-5), Oaklander (12-5)

In but shifts unscheduled/tentative: Berto (needs ride to/from nearest BART to Cow Palace, can anyone assist?), Dr. Peter Venkman, Movie_Zombie, TheMPOPresence, Hoffmang, Bwiese

Can anyone currently scheduled for Saturday switch over to Sunday? Ivan, JDBerger, and/or SJGunGuy24 perhaps?

I am sorry I am gonna miss the crew this weekend -- I have family commitments and won't be able to join you (or shop the show) either day.

Wildhawker -- how do you guys handle coffee/food for the crew? Can my wife and I paypal you or CGF some funds towards that line item?

I was planning on just lookin around at the show, but just wondering, if I want to buy something, whats the protocol? Is it cash in hand then arrange an FFL, or is it just arrange an FFL and payment later? never been to a gun show.

Dedeye I need your address for shipping.

Regarding polo's, I have a bunch on hand ready to ship on short notice. Though I am out of the mens XL I ought to have some in NLT Friday. Price is $20 plus shipping regardless of size from small to 6XL.
I just tapped into a source for sizes up to 10XL, yes that 10 X's on a large.

Also when ordering as Brandon mentioned, let me know which show dates you are working so I can plan the ship dates in order to ensure timely receipt of your order.

Thanks,

Vick

Vick, email sent w address and other info.

FYI, for bookkeeping purposes we'll be keeping straight donations separate from the sales of CGN gear; that said, both the straight donations and net proceeds generated by the booth sales will be given to CGF. Per IRS rules, a portion of your purchase is tax deductible; more info at the booth.

I'll be out of state until Sat pm and will prob swing by the J&R fun on Sunday (prob miss the CP booth this time around ). Have fun everyone and remember that *this* is grassroots activism at work!

Thank you to all the volunteers! We will need at least 2 people to help with the food service, and another 2 to help with keeping the food stocked (i.e. bringing food outside from the stockroom as needed), and keeping the dining area clean. Anyone who can be at the store around 10 to help set up, or stay after 5 to help clean up, is more than welcome.

The Taser demo is going to be a bit of a disappointment - the rep will be wearing a Taser suit, so he won't actually get jolted.

Thanks again to all who volunteer. This should be a really great event!

Randy

Bummer man, no bulging eyes?
No sporadic twitching afterward's throughout the night?
No blue bolts of flashback?

All that willing Bubba testosterone going to waste.

I was planning on dropping by the show on Sunday anyway; I'm a relative novice to all things Calguns, but if you guys are looking for more hands on Sunday afternoon, I'd be more than happy to help out. I can probably do 1:30 or 2pm through closing.
