Which Eotech Hybrid to get?
In lieu of out of warranty repair, I have a 1 time use discount code from Eotech.
The discount code is a percentage and not a dollar amount, so I figure I’ll get a hybrid with magnifier but for the life of me I can’t tell the difference besides price and one is green. It will sit atop a 12” M4 OK, I spent about 10 minutes reading on their website but the descriptions of the 4 options all seem the same https://www.eotechinc.com/holographi...-hybrid-sights ATM only the HHS-1 is in stock... which is the first one to be in stock in weeks.

My take...
They all come with the 3X magnifier. Outside of the green one, the others are separated by battery type and reticle. The HHS III is the AA one, the others are CR123s. The II and III versions have the -2 reticle, which is the 2 dot version. The others are the 'traditional' circle + 1 dot reticle. I'd rather get an LPVO. Haha. |

As for the LPVO, I’m actually paying a lot less than that. And there has to be something said for a company that still supports a 17 year old out of production out of warranty product. And made this side of the wall. I think I’ll get the one that's available.... while it’s available. I’ll give it a day or two to see if the green one comes up.

HHS I: Eotech EXPS3 which uses CR123 battery and has night vision settings.
HHS II: Eotech EXPS2 which uses CR123 battery and does not have night vision settings. HHS III: Eotech 512 which uses AA batteries and does not have night vision settings. HHS Green: Eotech EXPS2 Green which uses CR123 battery, does not have night vision settings, and the reticle is green.

EXPS3-0 is $550-$650 BNIB which it's always been and magnifiers are $400 and some change. Still under $1000 with no tax and free shipping. |

Well, it only took 14 months since they issued the discount code for one to come available but true to their word, I did receive an optic at a substantial discount. Good company!
I’ll add that this optic is pretty epic too!

Are the quick detachments part of the Eotech and magnifier or are they separate mounts. I have a 512 and it hits the handguard so I can't get enough room to put my magnifier on. If they are separate parts what brand are they?

For your 512, Google ‘EOTech QD riser’ Last edited by HKAllTheThings; 05-13-2021 at 11:50 AM.. |

Larue makes an lt110 that raises a 512 or 552. I used to use one of those. Even has the rear elevated rail for a magnifier that isn’t elevated.
Yhm used to make one. GG&G also used to make a version. I liked the larue setup. You torque it down in the mount and the mount is a qd on the top rail of the rifle If you have a 518 it has the elevated mount like an exp version |

No, those are part of the optic... didn’t look to see if it could be removed but the quick disconnect came mounted on both optics.
