Default Carrying Out of State

Can't seem to find reliable information regarding carrying in a permit-less carry state. For example, if I am a CA resident and I travel to TX could I legally carry there? I was reading the new legislation and it appears to only specifically mention Texan residents and those legally able to possess a firearm. I'm wondering though if this could potentially apply to out of state residents as well as long as they are in legal possession of a firearm? Does anyone have experience on this matter? What about traveling to other constitutional carry states from CA?

I have a couple apps on my phone...

Legal Heat ; https://mylegalheat.com/classes/

CCW (Workman Consulting); https://appadvice.com/app/ccw-concea...tate/443321291

Of course it's still up to you to verify the info. Though Texas went constitutional carry on 9/1/21 and according to the app you do not have to be a Texas resident. I have not done the research myself and I'm just a guy on the internet.

From the Legal Heat app;

You do not have to be a Texas resident to carry in Texas.

And note that Texas did not create any new language that says 'You can carry' - instead they simply removed the laws that said 'you can't carry'.

So now there is no law that says you can't carry, and that goes for everyone in the state who is not a prohibited possessor and is of or over a certain age.

The anti-gun media refers to 'Texas Residents' when covering these new changes. That may be an attempt to dissuade non-residents from carrying. But don't fall for it.

I did cover it a bit here with some citations

You're fine in Tennessee if you are not otherwise prohibited from owning or being in possession of a firearm. Arizona, OK, Idaho, Missouri, Kansas, and Texas all similar I believe. Might be a few more.

Do your homework however. Light green states permit any non prohibited over 21.
