Visited the mother-in-law in Texas, while I was there I stopped into some gun stores (of course), and had to compliment the owner on his taste in ARs. Thought CalGuns would get a chuckle. Without further ado:

When everyone was jumping ship during the Eotech debacle I did so as well, bought a Aimpoint and Acog, both great but missed the Eotech and regret selling, so purchased one recently, too impatient to wait for Blackfriday to see if there’s any deals.

finally got around to mounting a flashlight (streamlight tlr rm1) on the AR. Used emissary 45* cable clips to make it look clean.

How do you like that RM1 so far? That was the light I was set on getting but after looking some more, I thought the Olight Odin Mini might be better for my preference but then when compared to the HL-X, it seems like I'm getting so much more for my money.

I don't think I'll ever realistically use the light I end up with for anything but fairly close range HD and hope I never have to use it for that so the light output from any of the three is probably more than adequate.

I like the built in and included offset M-Lok with quick release and recharging system of the olight.

I like the low profile of the RM1.

I like that the HL-X is the cheapest, has the most light output and probably most durable plus rechargeable battery options. Seems like a no brainer that you are getting the most for your money here but do I really need that much light and would I rather have one of the other two smaller options? Decisions...

I have RM2 and INFORCE... RM2 seems a lot tougher and I liked the way it installed clean even with the pressure switch. I really like the newer Streamlight stuff.

Thanks for sharing! The Streamlight does have a clean overall package and seems to be the best product for the price to me. One thing I didn’t like is the low profile all around also means they don’t look like they can extend past the guard much or at all. Maybe using a canted rail mount will help a bit.

That's true. I think the two rifles I posted are both 16" barrels and the lights are in about the exact same positions to the muzzle... one with approx 13" rail and the other is a 15"... so it worked out for me. I think the RM2 can actually be mounted a bit more towards the muzzle. I like the INFORCE style integrated mount... overall just too much plastic though.

That sounds like a knock on Olight if I’m reading into it right. I am leaning towards Streamlight anyways.

Sweet! Haven't visited this thread in a while.

Here's one I built. And it has turned out to be one of the most accurate rifles I have thanks to the Criterion CORE barrel.

Just finished building this rifle with my stepson. Intentionally went for a video game gun skin theme, since all my others are more traditional colors or all black.

Made some updates to my Noveske Recon Hunter.

- Changed out the NSR forend to an MLOK 15" version.
- Added a new scope Triicon Credo 1-6 SFP BDC Red CR624-C-2900015 (this model is definitely daylight bright, dare I say red dot bright unlike other Credo models).
- Added new scope mount Geissele SPR 30MM Extended with a Reptilia RMR top mount RMR adapter.
