Oh boy, were in for it now. The hour of our trepidation has arrived.
Only how bad it is; as bad as we are anticipating, or even worse.

I love how it is for. Media only…hmmmm…wonder why.

You have to RSVP as well…meaning they can exclude undesirable types that might ask serious or informed questions. Gotta love these aholes and the amount of time they spend on this vs. the taxpayers and the border issues.

More gun laws? Why can't they just start enforcing the laws currently on the books for those committing crimes with firearms, those whoa re felons and caught with firearms they are not allowed to possess a firearm, those who obtain them illegally, and start actually applying enhancements to sentences.

They are putting so much effort into creating roadblocks and stall tactics to prevent law-abiding citizens from getting their CCW, and making it so cost-prohibitive for many to even apply and start the process, already restrict magazine capacity and other features on certain firearms, but if you're a felon who is caught with a drum mag on a Glock you get a slap on the wrist and let out the same day.

Enforce the current laws on the books and increase the penalties for those committing these crimes and stop making law-abiding citizens softer targets and increasing the incentive to commit these crimes and things will start to change for the better.

Last year, it took from February 2022 till late August for SB918 to wind it's way through committees, amendments, voting, rewriting, et.

We can only hope the new one takes months to buy us time for NY, NJ to get slapped down and maybe they will amend?

Or maybe it's better to bring it on ASAP sign into law, so the lawsuits can be filed? I'm sure CalNRA and others already have drafts ready to be polished up and filed within days of enactment.

At some point in the next few months, we will have to live under draconian law, until we get injunction relief (i know, we're already under draconian law, but it will get worse).

Whatever they say, whatever they propose, remember if it can’t be supported by the Text/History/Tradition between 1790-1869, it’s unconstitutional and you don’t have to follow it.
You may, “exercise your right with impunity”.

Here is a semi list, not sure if all of them will be announced or a couple more added, but I think these are the core of the announcement. They’re kind of scraping the bottom of the barrel. AB328 may not make it because you know, they have to protect certain members of their voter base.

AB 97: Makes possession of an unserialized firearm a felony.

SB 2: Sets new limits for concealed carry permit holders

AB 303: Requires the state attorney general to create an online database for the state's Armed and Prohibited Persons System.

AB 328: Would reinstate harsher penalties for those who use a gun in the process of committing a violent crime.

AB 28: Creates a new tax on firearms and ammunition to fund gun violence protections.

AB 97 is a huge one. I would not put it past them to go through their DROS database and look for all those C&Rs without Serial Numbers attached and prosecute.

I agree that you do need a life! Have you considered that prohibited persons include those who have had baseless red flag allegations made against them? Furthermore, why would you need a data base of prohibited persons?

Which of these newly proposed bills will stop criminals from committing crimes? Better yet, which one will actually make DAs prosecute actual criminals and keep them behind bars?

CA politicians are not interested in making the streets safer, nor are they interested in reducing crime. They don't give a sh*t. If they did, their DAs would have put rioters/protesters in prison, they would have not introduced Prop 47, they would have increased bail requirements for criminals, they would not release felons out on the streets, etc. etc.

These same politicians simply want to disarm citizens, eventually of all firearms. Gun control has never, ever been about public safety.

Yawn. Another day, another round of hypocritical, ineffective, Communist tyranny. Business as usual. They march one step closer to civilian disarmament, the few hundred of us on CG bitch and whine, the laws all pass and we are one step closer.

It’s mainly all SB2, sensitive places. They obviously aren’t following developments in NJ and NY.

Seems to all be about SB2. Lots of "for the children", "common sense" and appeals to emotion.

Oh, and Bonta says this is absolutely Bruen compliant.

So their response to the last two Maas shootings is to double down on idiocracy of making it harder for people to defend their own lives? When, as we know, these were not CCWers that did the shootings. It’s all lies from them to push their anti gun agenda. Hopefully SB2 gets smacked down.

Watching live. Mostly just jerking each other off, guns are bad, constitutional carry states cause more gun violence, etc etc. SB2 text is out, similar to last year. Newsom talking about Benitez, saying his decision is already written and the AW ban and High cap ban are going away and it's ridiculous.

Newsome used air quotes when talking about the "right" to carry. He also said flat out that the goal is less guns. It is clear that CA does not think guns are a right of the people and is acting as such to undermine Bruen.

I use air quotes when calling Newsom "governor". In reality he's a little needle dick tyrant.

Obviously they haven’t read the historical accounting the state did for Judge Benitez.
I’ve read it. I’ll be consulting with Portintino’s office poking holes in their plan with their own research.

And just remember, even if it passes along, and the governor signs it, no one has to follow it.
This year will be another whack-a-mole with unconstitutional legislation.

Their claiming that the bill will ban under 21 from owning any gun, but last year their law banning semi-auto to under 21 was struck down.. Maybe that's a clue, but yet they claim it's constitutional.
