Thank you Sir!
It would be nice if they made it in a few additional colors. I think their logic is that the parts being Micro Slicked are all internal moving parts and therefore unseen. But I realize that BCGs and other rifle bolts are internal yet partially visible. |

Yes, our shop guarantees that the coating won't peel, flake, crack, or have any problems that result from the coating process. If a problem arises that is a result of the coating process (or prep process), then we will re-coat that part at no additional cost.
This does not include scratches, holster wear, and other blemishes that result from use and abuse over time. |

Thank you! I look forward to speaking with you.
Yes, we coat optics. Lens covers will depend on the material. Cerakote can be applied to hard plastic covers, but it does not adhere well to rubber. We do have a couple examples in our gallery (http://occustomcoating.com/gallery) of rifles and lens covers that were coated recently. Toward the bottom of the gallery there are 2 Remington 700's with scopes and matching lens covers in a custom camo pattern. |

We have some 80% lowers available with Cerakote applied for $155 out the door. The Cerakote can be applied before or after you mill out the lower. Click here to see our thread with the lowers for sale!

Paul at OC Custom Coatings is such a nice guy with great customer service, not to mention his work is second to none. Paul has done two complete AR's for me thus far, and I dropped another off today. Here is a pic of my latest build.....6.5 Creedmoor in Titanium Blue.
IMG_4123.jpg IMG_4125.jpg Always exceeding expectation on quality of work and delivery date. Give him a call, you wont be sorry. Very fair prices for the quality and level of customer service. |

Great CS!
I dropped off parts for AR project today...
I concur with the rest of the reviews - Paul is a great guy! Very professional, extremely patient and all around likeable dude! Went in with a general idea of what I wanted (about 80%)... and without rush or deterrent, Paul took the time to understand what I was after and gave great suggestions to pull it all together... I look forward to the finished results! |

There is no other prep needed prior to drop off. Here is a basic summary of what we do after receiving the firearm/parts: if our shop is handling the disassembly then we start with the full disassembly of the firearm/parts. Our shop will then do an initial degrease on all parts. Then we media blast each part with the recommended grit aluminum oxide. From this point forth all parts are handled with gloves to help maintain a sterile surface. parts are then blown off and put through a clean/sterile degrease tank. Then coated and placed in the oven to cure. This is a basic summary. Some firearms require more steps. Delicate parts, such as optics and flashlights, require different prep and cure process. |

OC Custom Coating Review - Part 1
First off, Paul's communication is EXCELLENT. He does not leave you hanging and responds to texts and emails immediately. I, literally, had a zillion questions and Paul was patient in his explanations and demeanor towards someone he has never met in person. I can't say the same for other vendors on this forum who make you feel like you are wasting their time. I have 4 lowers at Paul's shop awaiting some custom engraving and Cerakoting. I am waiting for the artwork proofs to authorize the work to move forward. Paul worked with my schedule in order to coordinate my trips to the OC. The lowers were completed at Arms Specialty and Tool (Gabe's shop) and then dropped off to Paul @ OC Custom Coating. Talk about one-stop shop. The 2 shops are minutes apart. I've seen Paul's work on Rick's (South Coast Outdoorsman) Mossberg Shotty. That thing is gorgeous in the Magpul Green with the black furniture. The Cerakote looks to be one tough SOB. My lowers are not done yet, but if they are anything like Rick's Mossy, I will be more than happy with the final turnout. I chose some crazy colors, but I will leave that top secret until part 2 of the OC Custom Coating Review. When these 4 get done, I have 2 AR10 lowers in transit to me. I will complete the other 20% at Arms Specialty and Tool and then get them over to Paul. This is going to get me divorced. I have the following on the immediate wishlist to get coated: 1. Remmy 870 Express 2. Saiga 12 3. Saiga 308 4. Zastava N-PAP AK Until then...Do not hesitate to email, call, text, send smoke signals, Morse Code, whatever...Just call and get your stuff done with these guys. For all you haters, I am not a family member, employee, personal buddy, lawyer or business partner of Paul's. Just an honest CG'er who feels like any CG Brother wanting to know the real deal when it comes to coating will get my honest opinion and review. Part 2 to come with pics! -Ron |

But dang you!... Engraving? This I did not know and now you got me thinking about another project I'd like to get done when current is finished - I already thought about getting a Benelli MR1 in there - but now with "engraving"... hmmm... I look forward to seeing yours when complete |

Just spoke to Paul in detail and now we have some CRAZY AZZ project in the works.
I have a Remmy 887 Nitro Mag shotty. This thing is all black, all plastic cladded and has never seen a round through it. It is @ 3 years old and is a safe queen for sure. My field guns are my Remmy 870 Express shotties and my skeet/trap gun is my Beretta Silver Pigeon. That is why this gun gets no love. Anyway, Paul came up with a collage of my custom logo similar to his skull collages. Paul is also going to create a one-off color scheme for the collage. The entire rifle will be coated and covered, including the barrel. He is working on 6 custom engraved lowers for me right now. When that project is done, we hope to have the custom shotgun completed shortly thereafter. If patience is a virtue, I have no virtue! -Ron |
