I think the main reason why the boiler plate is "it's illegal" is because the law is extremely vague.
I believe they (CALDOJ) claimed bump stocks were illegal, but by the letter of the law they were legal .. Then later the legislature changed the law to cover bump stocks. If it was already illegal, why change the law ? So anything that makes your gun sound like a machine gun is illegal, even if it's not illegal, it's still illegal . |
