Default Remington 1187 for trap

Thanks to a fellow calgunner, just dros'ed an 1187 premier engraved with a
26" barrel. I am looking forward to this. I remember shooting my friend's dad's 1100 quail hunting and had a great time floppin birds. I will shooting trap with this one. DOes anyone think it will be completely different than shooting a 28"?

Fixed choke or choke tubes?
The two inches makes a difference, but unless you shoot competitively, it shouldn't really matter.

I have the same shotgun and use it all the time for trap. It's an excellent choice and I know you'll enjoy it!

Beautiful gun. I don't think the shorter barrel will make much difference. Enjoy shooting it!

My 1187 is the skeet model.................26" barrel and some of the nicest wood I've ever seen on a shotgun. I've had mine for close to twenty-five years now, most used for target but seen some action on pheasant at Raahauge’s a bunch of times too.
Great shotguns as far as I'm concerned, can't remember if/and/or ever had any trouble with mine in all that time??

It only had one tube since it was used. I didn't check what choke was on it but I am sure it won't be too hard to find. Great looking shotgun and glad to get it before summer budgeting happens. I shoot for fun and might take out for quail or pheasant this fall/winter. Thanks
