Default Gov wants "smart" gun control (MA, Markey)

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014...-personalized/

I can see this only in a bad way.

I would say do background checks for all gun sales then repeal all gun bans. If you pass your background check you should be able to own any firearm you desire.

So who do I sue when my smart gun fails when I need it to work?

The NSA!

Wouldn't it be convenient if the only guns 'the people' have are "smart" guns that one day can be 'turned off' by sending a signal via the internet or EMP. Hmmm

Mostly these days it seems 'smart' actually means stupid.

They want "smart" guns so they can turn them off when they want to.

Just another stupid idea from a north east Senator.

After all, if it is cutting edge technology, totally unproven, expensive to implement, probably unreliable and restrictive that is just the kind of idea Senator Markey would propose. The press will jump all over it and ignore the potential downsides, making it sound like the best thing since sliced bread and micro stamping.

This. Have all the guns you want but Uncle Joe has the remote control.

I mean if James Bond has it, why can't we all?

I'm sure the cost involved isn't going to be "that much at all" just like microstamping, since that's what the law makers say.

Well since cops are the ones most often shot with their own guns, it makes sense for them to have these...

I'm pretty sure the Army wouldn't be so thrilled.

the details do not matter until the Governor signs or allows the bill to become law.

Ask CA law questions in the How CA Laws Apply to/Affect Me Forum
- most questions that start 'Is it legal ...' go there.
