Browning Hi Power or 1911 match barrel worth it?
These are the responses I typically hear from veteran shooters:
Hi-Power - "You will see a very small difference, if any, especially since you have a T-Series Hi-Power"
Sistema Colt 1927 - "You'll see a lot of improvement if you make sure to math the march bushing to the barrel as well."
I've been shooting long enough to know that the word "Match" seems to be a marketing term nowadays, but I was referred to use a Kart barrel for the 1911 along with a Kart Bushing. For the Browning I was informed that Barsto would be the best option for a barrel, but that the improvement would be too small to spend the money on the barrel.
Is this true, to your knowledge? What would you recommend?
I'm kind of a purist when it comes to guns, especially classic / classy ones such as these, but I'm starting to itch for improvement....btw, no tacticool stuff, only practical mods.
