Default When did El Dorado Rod & Gun Club close down

I've called all week the main number and the trap range and got no living person, just message machine. I also drove there on a Sunday, a Monday and a Thursday this last week. Same exact thing each time. Big metal gate with padlocks, closing access to the range at the driveway entrance. So you can't even approach the office. A huge bright yellow sign that says "property patrolled by sheriff office, no trespassing" in menacing letters warning not to proceed down road or you will be arrested. All exterior signs to all ranges read "closed".

It appears they got shut down and the sheriffs office is in control of property until litigation ends, fines are paid, back taxes, whatever it is, etc. I suppose I can just drive another 20 minutes east to IMT and shoot for free

I hadn't heard about this and I live up here and have ranged there. I'll look into it unless someone beats me to it.

Are they in the National Forest?

Did the national government shutdown? Were the forest businesses closed due to the shutdown?

Perhaps this might be the cause of the closure?

People actually go there? I was thinking about it but after seeing their hours I decided I'll just make the trip to Sac Valley when I go shooting. Most of the time they're only open for a couple of hours. Does the Sheriff's department pay their bills?

Reference Crosbie360's post. I have gone there a handful of times, and have never had a bad experience. Really enjoy the matches that they run. If you are in Sac County it could be a bit of a drive, but I have never had to wait to shoot.
