Default Is it possible to shoot my Garand at an Appleseed?

I went to an Appleseed this summer and got my rifleman patch with my 10/22 and I'd like to go back for a Sunday to try and translate my skills from a 22LR to a 30-06.

I know I'm allowed to shoot it, but how would all the mandatory reloads work out? I'm new to the Garand, so I'm not sure if you can load less than 8 rounds into the enbloc clip and still make it work, can you? I also know you can load one round, take a shot, repeat. Is that the best way to do it?

Thanks!

There are enblocs that have been modified to hold 2 or 5 rounds. Go on the CMP forum and do a search on how to modify your own.

You can also load 2 rounds with a regular enbloc - there's a trick where you cross them in the clip and they straighten out like magic when the oprod goes forward. Do a search and you'll find instructions.

The 2 round enblocs are kind of a pain - they don't quite click in like a full enbloc - so basically either approach is kind of a quirky but if you practice they work out about the same.

You don't need anything fancy if you are using an M1 at an Appleseed event.

M1 Garand.
Ammo.
Enbloc Clips
Sling

Mag prep is going to be either 5, 2 and 8, or 10. Your Enbloc Clip can handle 5, 2 and 8 just fine. 10=8+2 which works fine. You do not need a special modified Enbloc Clip.
