I'm pretty sure this guy mad the rounds on the net some time ago. The whole thing was as deep lie, to his wife, family etc.
did your car have a Purple Heart plate?

Nope, it was the license plate frame. It said "Semper Fidelis" and USMC. Didn't have a wrench until I got home to get it off and get it back to the original owner.

Whatever. That's on par with having a College or Sports Team license plate frame.

The most the new buyer could do is wait for the registration to expire and then choose not to renew the specialty plate. To be more proactive would have required dealing with the DMV.

Or the seller should have switched them back before it was sold.

There was the one fatso that pretended to be an Army CPT, and injected himself in a city emergency. He had a car with those military facility stickers on them which was part of his gimmick.

So remove your stuff before you sell your cars if it's a big deal.

Having just gone through being the private buyer and seller the AAA advocated I keep my personals because otherwise id have to release them back to the DMV.

On that xterra I bought I actually need to ship the owner back his plates. He had those 9/11 specialty plates.

My Marine friends are laughing about this one. Someone gave up their seat to him that's why there's a picture of a ticket there also.

+1 not a service nor ex service dude, but to me I always think a license plate frame is a sign of support and appreciation of you guys sacrifice to the nation.

anyways what do you guys think about folks that show up at Firearm training classes all dressed up in military combat uniform..?

The only issue I have with it is if they were to wear a division patch, rank or branch name that they did not earn. I have no issues with dudes wearing UCP or Multicam uniforms at all but definitely leave those things off.

There's no state that I know of that allows the selling of a vehicle with PH plates. As far as I know they are issued individually and when I buy a new vehicle I detach the plates and can re-register the vic with the old plates... And I pay $7 instead of $400 for a newer vehicle so it's quite a relief in cost.

I am really surprised when the stolen valor frauds actually did serve in the actual military. Why MSU about what you did. You served, you did your duty, and you were discharged. Not everyone is a Seal or Ranger or Force Recon. I am proud of my service, the stories of which would put most people to sleep. But at least it was legit.

I was able to view this video on a different website. He gets cornered by a couple of service members who ask him VERY basic questions about the Army and his uniform, none of which he answers correctly. He refers to himself as an officer and when asked about a medal he is wearing (Silver Star) he says it is the Bronze Star.

When he is finally called out as a fake he starts acting like a tough guy rather than owning up to it.

It is soooooo easy to legitimately get even the most mundane of BLING sufficient enough to attract all that attention they are trying to get.

Also, don't give your blues to the Salvation Army or the local Surplus Store.

That's got to be where these guys are picking up these things. I don't see them going to Marlow and White on-line, or the local Clothing and Sales PX.

I never cared much for dress uniforms. Hate wearing them. I can cut off half the fingers on one hand and count how many times I wore my dress greens. the few times I did aside from graduation, I was so confused on what goes where, have to use rack builder, try to decipher 670-1. Screw the dressy stuff, unless I'm forced to wear it, I avoid it like the plague.

Why is that fool wearing USAF Senior Master Sergeant (the rank I retired at) stripes on an Army uniform? TACP's & JTACs can do that when they are embedded with their respective Army units, but this cat ain't one of them. And his fatigue bottoms aren't bloused, with non-reg boots. Eeeesshhh. Someone smack em'!
