that's cabelas for you, get used to it, have had several orders cancelled by them.

besides, don't understand why folks get so worked up about saving 5-8 cents/rd.

Just checked order history on Cabelas site.
It now shows FMJ/200 instead of FMJ 2PK.

End of the ride for me here. I'm going to cancel my order. I'm good for 223 anyways but I couldn't resist it at that price for 400.

If I wanted to pay over 50 cents for 223 I would just go to Big 5 or my LGS and do this -->

Mine has changed as well. My email says 2pack. Are they allowed to do that? All we can do is cancel right?

I ordered around 6pm - was giving 6-7 week backorder at that point, although I think the email I received had the 8/25 date. Definitely a lot of confusion over every aspect of this which is why I decided to bail.

It's not 5-8 cents, it's double the price. Instead of .35 it's .70. That wouldn't get you worked up? How about them changing the deal after you order? This will be my last order from them.

My order said :

And it said that when I checked order history a few minutes after ordering.

But I just checked again and it now says:

223REM 55GR FMJ/200


So they changed my order.

Bastards.

Sorry to have been the bearer of bad news on the order history, but I just got off the phone with Cabelas and awaiting to hear back from a "product specialist".

I guess we should have all bought the individual boxes instead!

No need for apologies there buddy. You did a good thing warning us about the switcharoo happening in the background in our order histories. Made the decision easy for me to cancel the order anyways.
Hope those that are willing to let it ride do get the 400 they initially ordered.

Just talked to customer service. No idea what I was talking about. They said that it is for 200 rounds even though like the rest of you I clearly saw the site advertising 400 rounds. After talking to two people the girl said she may be able to cancel my order which is already processing. The first girl actually tried to convince me that getting any ammo at any price is a good thing and I shouldn't cancel! Neither rep could understand what I was talking about when I said the 20 round boxes were actually cheaper when ordered individually than in bulk. Apparently the night shift is in and they don't communicate with the day shift. I will call back in the morning to try to work my way up the ranks of customer service.

as long as they are aware of the issue, I still have some faith in Cabelas to do the right thing.

and if not, then credit card dispute will always work.

Is this worth dealing with a CC dispute over? I have my print screen where it shows "2pk", but now it says 200. No email or anything saying that they changed what I ordered. How would that work, cause I thought you couldnt return ammo?

there is no worth or not worth,

if you're not getting something you've paid for, or something is falsely advertised, that is exactly the kind of protection the CC companies offer you as part of their benefits.

you're not causing extra effort, it's included in your card member agreement already.

They told me I couldn't return ammo, but I could take it to a Sheriff's station to have them confiscate/destroy it, then send Cabela's a copy of the certificate that it was destroyed.

That's what I was thinking, just never really ever had to deal with a CC dispute before (lucky me I guess). Just didn't know if I have any grounds to do so, especially since I can't just return it.

For me it won't be worth the trouble disputing it. And correct "due to safety reasons...blah...blah...blah" they say you can't return ammo.

Hopefully tomorrow sheds some better light on this. Thankfully this stuff seems to be back ordered for a couple weeks so they should get it figured out.

I do know AE makes a 200rd bulk pack, and the way Cabela's made it sound on the email invoice and others that it was 2 packs of the 200rd bulk pack per order. I ran a search on Google to see what prices the 200rd x 2 bulk packs were going for and they were pretty close to what Cabela's was selling them for.

I'll wait for my phone call and if I don't hear back or get something positive posted here I'll cancel it and continue to wait on my 8 month back order from Midway USA LOL.

Okay so I was one of the ones who got backordered for 8/25. I got the correct email right I placed my order. I just checked my account and it has been changed. Argghh..

I also check my CC, and they charged my card already! The confirmation email clearly stated that the card wouldnt be charged until the order ships.

This might be the last time I order from Cabelas. What a mess.

I'm really thinking it was a pricing mistake and they are not owning up to it. So they make a mistake, either they honor it or cancel the orders. So far none of that has happened, except for a lot of unanswered questions.

Don't think this will be the end of this matter. If everyone who ordered thinking they will get 400 and got 1 box of 200, expect some angry phone calls!

I saw this in stock last night but it was missing the quantity on the list. I added it to my cart and asked a live chat rep how many rounds it was and he told me he didn't see it on the list. He also said it was an error so I didn't buy it.

I saw it backorderable today with 400 rounds listed so I called to ask what happened and the rep said he couldn't add it to his cart and that they haven't been doing bulk packs. He said they havent been getting that much to be putting together bulk packs other thab steel. He also said it was most likely an error and would've been cancelled. Not sure what's going on with that deal.

Wow, I see this is still going on. Cabelas phone reps must be working overtime today for calgunners.

I didn't jump on this one because the round count showed me 200 so I called and the girl said that 200 nor 400 existed. She was nice but totally oblivious to what I was trying to explain. She said the SKU was for 20 rounds.

So far on all my other orders that where deals like these for Cabelas I have always received what I ordered and sooner than expected. Even when it was backordered. Difference here is the switcharo on the round count.

Hope it works out for everyone who ordered.

This is the response from cabellas on my inquiry . They say it was a mistake and is only 200 rounds ! I feel they should honor my order at 400 but I guess I will be canceling.

No, you missed the point on the round count getting halved from 400 to 200.

Yes, me too. I missed that and ordered 200 instead of 400. Glad I read this again! Anyway, I called back and in 5 minutes it was cancelled. The Customer Service rep (who was extremely helpful), said that they offered this at 1000 and 400 rounds in the past, but by the time I reached it, it was only 200.

For me, no harm no foul.
