I can't make the Cow Palace this weekend, but I'm in.

I've only been reloading for 6 months, so I'm an amateur.

What's great about being "an amateur" is that you've recently experienced common mistakes as a new reloader. They are fresh in your mind, and you can easily teach a brand new reloader your mistakes. Don't look at being an amateur as a bad thing. Everyone can learn from Eachother.

We've met a lot of folks at the Cow Palace CGN booth. If you make it to the show today or tomorrow, please stop by and say hello.

I was at the Cow Palace today. I saw the CGN booth. There were a lot of folks talking to you. I waited for awhile ... but decided to leave anyway. I am glad to see that you guys were very busy.

Yes, please count me in on the Reloading Group. I have been reloading for 3+ years, and I live in the San Jose area.

Send me a message to let me know when the next meet will be. I will make an attempt to show up.

Thanks!

I'm not a joiner, but this is too good to ignore. I am in Redwood City with 15+ years of experience. Does this group have its own communication mechanisms?

Yes, there are pistol competitions pretty much every weekend at one or more of: Richmond, Chabot, USI, Yolo, and SacValley.

Richmond and USI (Bay Point) have clubhouse facilities with carbonated refreshments that may only be consumed after you are done with the range for the day, making them obvious candidates. Unfortunately, San Francisco is not as hospitable.

If folks want to meet sometime around the Cow Palace this weekend, that should be easy for the SF folks; otherwise if enough East Bay folks want to go, I'd suggest Richmond after the match on either 11/3 or 11/17.

In case you haven't seen the thread yet, I.E. is doing a Xtreme Group Buy. They are at pretty reasonable prices with the bulk discount.

My order is in, and I'm considering making the hike to pick them up if it saves on shipping.

Just saw this thread, I'd be interested in this group. I'm down in the Santa Cruz mountains, so probably not up for a drive to Richmond, but keep me posted. I've been handloading since 1977....

I am going to hold a bit of a drawing. I have three extra Crossroads of the west gun show V.I.P. passes that expire on the 31st. If you would like to go and get in free then post and send a PM to me with a contact number so I may get a mailing address.
On Friday night I will draw two people from the names. First draw gets two passes second draw gets one. The Delmar show is scheduled on the 14th and 15th of December, Ventura and Reno both on the 21st and 22nd and Las Vegas on the 28th and 29th.

Here is the catch, you must have posted in one of the club threads prior to my offering them in this post. Making this open to any one one from any CGSSA reloading club chapter.

Oh. News tidbit. Reloading club members now get a 5% discount when ordering bullets from Missouri Bullet Company www.missouribullet.com. Contact your chapter lead for the discount code.

We can all thank Bumslie this.

Wishing you all a great Holiday season.

Can you sign me up for the CGSSA Reloading Club -- Bay Area Chapter?

I already have some gear....

Lee Handpress, Lee Ramprime, lee powder scoops, Redding trickler, 0.02gr electronic scale, funnel, primer pocket tool, case trimmer, concentricity gauge, electronic caliper, etc.

308 micrometer dies, 223 die set (new never used), 45 ACP & 9mm die sets. Appropriate shell holders.

I used to use CFE223, IMR4064 and Longshot powders, but right now I am down to zero on everything but about 3 tablespoons of Longshot.

I can make about 20 rounds an hour... 30 if I work hard and fast.

come on by, but I'm south bay. You find yourself in Santa Clara, just give me a call.

Bring your dies. And frankly your pistol. you can drive up the road to reeds and test what you make immediately.

Okay, everybody. On Tuesday, I'll be fresh out off Thanksgiving, Holiday, New Years, and MLK-day excuses.

For the sake of convenience, and reduced embarrassment in case only 2 people show up, I am inclined to schedule an event with the East Bay club. Would meeting in the East Bay for a single event near the end of this month preclude anyone?

Probably would be difficult for me, as I live in the Santa Cruz mountains. However, don't wait for me, I have a sick daughter (mono) who will probably keep me anchored for the next few weekends.

It sounds like we need to look for more than one venue, including San Jose / Santa Clara. Anyone down that way have a line on a meeting or classroom location?

Right now, the USI/Concord issue is being discussed (see the EB thread for more detail).

I'm in south Santa Cruz County so the East Bay is a bit of a trek. Interested in anything in Santa Clara or San Mateo counties though.
I have some brass, bullets and powder I can donate if anything gets off the ground.

I've been contemplating getting into reloading. But I'd love to pick the brains of experienced reloaders to figure what is actually needed to reload..

The things that you need most are time and money. Everything else can be acquired by spending the first two items.

The biggest obstacle is finding a decent spot to meet, hold reloading classes, and store club stuff. Insurance is an issue; thoughtcrime in CCSF is an issue... you get the idea.

If anyone has suggestions, please let me know. So far, the best leads I've gotten are in the East Bay.
