Some Finns:
![]() My Frakenmosin, assembled from parts. Ishevsk barrel, Polish low wall receiver, and a parts mix of every single arsenal: ![]() This is my Bubba job, and the link below will take you to the confessional: ![]() Confessional thread: http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/vie...lit=I+am+Bubba for those of you who don't go to the confessional thread, I made it out of a cut down barreled receiver I got for I think 5 bucks at a gun show in Chico. It is one of those projects where you spend $200 to get a $100 rifle you can sell for $80. Doesn't get much better. :-) CDFingers |

no real idea yet, i didn't have enough time to zero it. but it looked like it was grouping about 3-4 inches at 50 yards with the glass not tightly mounted (my bad)... just took it out real quick so girlfriend could shoot it.

i'm sure it's not going to be all that great. after all, it was a 1943 battle made m44 and was made to just get the job done.. vs. shooting dimes all day.

Heres my $89 Big 5 special. When I picked it up it had this red stuff all over the stock and gunk all over the barrel.
Before. ![]() Heres after tearing the rifle down and cleaning the stock with thinner and scotchbrite and cleaning all the metal bits. No sanding all the original markings and dents are still there. Then 4 coats of Satin clear coat on the stock. After. ![]() Last edited by CJBrian; 02-05-2010 at 11:58 PM.. |

jms, does your rifle's total length measure 48-3/4" or 51-1/4" ?
If 51 1/4" your correct on the M91. Besides the SA mark, what gives it away to me as a Finn capture is the globe front sight has been swapped out for a blade sight. I have a 1932 with identical markings (minus serial) that measures 51 1/4". But my bluing is worn to metal and counterbored. The importer also mistakenly marked it 91/30. Nice rifle you have there. -g

It's definitely a Finn Capture Dragoon, stock being 2 piece splice and SA mark. Length wise is just like 91/30 and the only difference is the rear sight (Dragoon give away). As far as front sight, globe sight is a 91/30 model, Dragoon still have a blade sight type just like the M91.

OOHHHHH KAY..... i just got back from the range and it's pretty dialed in... i'm grouping 2.5-3 inches from 50 yards and like 5 inches at 100... here's a pic of 100 yards (please excuse the ghetto painters tape). not bad for a war rifle and some grass root gunsmithing on my part.
