Default My 22/45 after mods from Kinghouse

Started out as a base model 22/45 (Ruger model #10107) that doesn't come with the replaceable grip panels. I sent it in to Kinghouse Custom Machine to have the grip mod done so it can take 1911 grips as well as some trigger work and the magazine disconnect removed. Wait time was around 4 months. Here is the finished and reassembled product

You wouldn't mind sharing a ball park figure of how much it cost you?

With the VZ grips ($65) and the work from kinghouse plus shipping both ways, came up to about $160 total.

I have the same pistol; mine is the stainless model.

It's my favorite .22 LR pistol.

Is your pistol's polymer frame tapped for the grip screws?

Or are there tapped metal inserts installed in it?

To be 100% honest, I'm not sure if it's tapped into the plastic frame or into metal inserts. I'll have to check and I'll let you know.

Very nice. I wanna send mine to him too. I sent him an email last week asking what I need to do to send it in and how long is the wait time right now and still waiting to hear back from him.

Great work. Not entirely sure I could or would own a 22/45 frame without grip panels.

4 months seems like a long time, does it not?

Yea. He was backed up with work when I sent it in. He told me that it'd be a while before he could get to it so I knew I'd be waiting a while for the work to be done. My friend bought. 22/45 as well and sent it in earlier this year, 3 weeks total from seeing it in to getting it back.

I just asked him what his current turn around time is. Currently a couple of day's to couple of weeks depending on what needs to be done and parts availability.

Couple days to a couple weeks is a respectable turnaround for custom work. It's obviously great work and worth the wait.

Default No word back from Doug Stout

I contacted Doug Stout the beginning of May and he replied quickly with the price list for the things he could do to the Ruger mark III 22/45 lower. I was impressed at how quick he answered and he sounded very knowledgeable about everything to do with this pistol. I also saw he had good recommendations.

So...I sent my lower on May 7th with the things that I wanted done which were:
Grip mod stainless $45
Pachmayr Am Leg $36
Medallions installed $15
Trigger job + bushing $35
Mag latch extension $20
Slingshot $7
Return shipping $7

Total $165

I included a check for $165. The day after he received it he cashed my check and he sent me an email saying my lower arrived safely but he hadn't started on it yet because his wife was ill and that it was kinda hectic around there. I wasn't concerned about getting it done in a hurry but after about 3 weeks I texted him asking "how's it going?", and no reply. After 4 weeks sent an email, last week tried calling him and after 6 weeks called and left a messgae just asking for a any response at all...still nothing. Like I said, I'm not in a hurry and if he has things going on or something happened I understand but a word back would be nice....anybody have any dealings with him recently? I may have to go to other measures later on if I don't hear from him...
