Default EAA APPEAL 22LR Ca. Legal???

I am interested in getting the EAA APPEAL 22LR. From their website I am pretty sure it meets the Calif. specs for barrel, 18", and overall, 29.5", length. I have a question regarding the magazine release. There is a button in the area behind the grip. Is this legal or would some type of a bullet button configuration be required? Thanks in advance for your help.

Overall length of 30" or greater, only applies to semi-auto centerfire rifles.

All other rifles, need an overall length of 26" or greater.

Thank you for the responses. I did try looking up the flow chart but for some reason it would not load on my computer. Appreciate the help.
