An LEO friend of mine wants to purchase a handgun from me. But neither of us know if LEO's are exempt from DROS.
We know he's exempt from the Handgun Safety Certificate requirement, but not DROS. Anyone know? Thanks!

If LE brings a letter from their Supervisor, stating that the particular gun is intended for duty use, then the 10 day wait does not apply. Some department require the letter to state the make, model, ser #. He should check with his dept policy for the particulars.
Either way, the DROS will happen. |

Used to be about 20+ years ago, just a badge and ID card and the gun went home the same day you picked it out from the glass counter. "Hope and Change" wasn't just an Obama scheme. ![]()
