Wink Where to find records of leo position application history

I have a question for the BG investigators and leo's here.
I work with a younger coworker who told me that he applied 5 years ago to various departments thru out the state and did not keep good records of the agencies he applied with.
He's now at the point that he got a background packet for riverside sd.
He's needs to list all the departments he's ever applied for but, he can not remember them all.
Is there somewhere he can find records of all the leo positions he applied for?
Is there a post database of some kind that would list all the departments he had applied with in the past?
If so how can he get a copy of that list?
I told him he needs to list all the agencies and i am trying to help him out.
Thanks

NSA maybe? Not sure that they'd just give anyone that info. Kinda like oh I dunno... HR files and all that. At least I hope they don't just hand out that info...

I doubt that there is a database that shows everywhere he applied, if he never got to the point he is now prior. If he was finger printed as an "applicant" there is a record, but it doesn't show what the application was for as far as I know.
List the ones he is sure of with an approximate date, the ones I would be most concerned about were places that did a background previously if there were any that did.

It's got to be somewhere. I had simply started an online application for the local sheriff's office years ago when I first started college out of high school and CDCR background found out about it. I had forgot that I even started that app...

if it is online through a site like calopps or govjobs, there may be some sort of record in your account. There is no database of applicants that is shared between agencies. The section on the PHS exists to help BG investigators with their job. If someone has done a background on a person already, it saves the current investigator work. It also provides them with another persons point of view on you, whether it be good or bad. It is there only for a reference. I cant remember all of the agencies i've applied to, but you do your best. If you've been hired or close to it, you should remember it.

What you need to know about LE though, is that it is a small world. I've had investigators call me in to ask me about so and so because they found some distant nexus between me and the applicant. I've also had many agencies contact me because they found out that i knew who this person is, but they never put me down as a reference. a good investigator will find those links.

its not such a big deal if you dont remember all of them. if it was just an application or written, no biggie. if you were DQ'ed in a BG, that is something that needs to be noted. Ommissions are treated as lying.

There are no LEO applicant data bases. There will be a record if the applicant was fingerprinted. It appears as "applicant' on the DOJ print data base.

Just tell your friend to remember the best he can and be truthful to the background investigator. POST & etc will have nothing.

The sheriff's app for me was online, so perhaps that is it. I guess I just figured "everyone" was taking apps online nowadays.

If he goes and gets a "livescan" fingerprinting done, then gets the results it might be on there.
