Default ** Official Signup for the CGSSA O.C. Reloading workshop V3.0 Sept 15th

Note to Mod. Please do not merge this thread.

Here is the sign up page for the third Orange County Reloading Workshop to be held on Sunday Sept 15th 2013.Location TBD.

We set up multiple presses to teach reloading to beginners.

This class differs from most reloading classes that merely lecture. This will be a "Hands on" reloading class where you will make and take the ammo you craft.

We will set up to load for several pistol calibers and at least two rifle calibers.

We will cover the basics of reloading in a way that will be remembered. You will learn by doing hands on.

Most standard pistol calibers can be covered. Rifle may be limited to 30-06, .308 and .223. However ask if you have a rifle caliber and we have dies and components it could happen. Brass could be the deciding factor here.

There will be a donation for this class of $60.00 for Pistol or $65.00 for Large Rifle. Components for one box of pistol (50 rounds) or 2 boxes of 223 (40 rounds) or 1 box of large rifle (20 rounds) are included. Brass is not included. There will be clean brass in most cases available for exchange as there is no time to clean brass the day of the event. Should you like to get your brass cleaned PM me to get it done in advance.

Location is in Fullerton. There will be some format changes. Earlier start time. Registration 8:00 am and 9:00 am start time. Lunch will be following the class, we will grill burgers and dogs. Following lunch if you wish to load additional ammo and have your own components you are welcome to do so. Lunch is included along with club dues for one year.

If you have attended a prior workshop and have components to load you may join in for the lunch and use the club gear to load some ammo after the class is done.

Some clean brass will be available on exchange basis as there will not be enough time in the class to clean your brass. Should you have Rifle brass that needs cleaning if you can get it to me I will run it through the tumbler prior to the class.

If you would like to attend, please post and PM me. Please also include the rifle or pistol calibers you would be interested in making and taking home to shoot.

The class size will be limited to 12 students. ID will be required. Must be 18 years old or must be 21 to load Pistol ammo unless with a parent.

We are also looking for experienced reloaders for oversight and safety. So PM me if you are willing to help.

I'm in for 9mm and .223. Do we have to exchange brass? I don't have any rifle brass but would like to learn to load it anyway.

Are you guys casting boolits again? I'd love to learn how to do that. I already reload at home and would rather just watch and listen to you guys teach.

Would like to add my name to the interest list to learn how to reload. Mainly 308 to hunt with. I just ordered a Lee Classic Loader to just hand load my rounds.

I look forward to seeing how everything down there in OC went today. I'm sorry I could not make it. But I hope to emulate very closely your success here in VC next week.

Thanks to BigBronco for his hospitality in opening his home for this class. Many thanks to all the instructors/helpers in making this a very enjoyable learning experience. Met a lot of great people as well.

You can read and watch all the youtube videos you want, but it's nothing like getting to load your own ammo for the first time!

My thanks to everyone that came together to pull this event off. It was a great day for all involved.

A special thanks to Bumslie, without who's help this could not have taken place inside the garage.

Thanks to our special guest Fighterpilot562 who came to handle everyone's meat. Yep FP manned the grill for lunch.

Chknlysp2 who traveled almost 2 hours again to help. Dark Mod, Mchava and Colt562 you guys are great

Another special thanks to a new guy Movin&Shakin. Who continues to be very supportive, He brought powder and Donated a New Dillon 550b Conversion kit in .223 to the club.

Thanks to all the class members. With out students who want to get hands on experience there would be no need for an event like this.

I know I had a great day and look foreword to doing it again. With that being said. There is no date yet scheduled for the next one. However anyone interested send a PM and I will start a Notification list.

So! Next Sunday we are off to Camarillo to help the Ventura chapter get things rolling. No CGSSA Reloading club chapter in your area yet. Well Step up to the plate and get it started. San Diego & Long Beach what are you waiting for. CGSSA RC Orange County (The Orange County Reloading Guild) will be here to help. Pm me for details!
